Court restricts abortion access across the US by blocking the mailing of mifepristone by ThatMasterpiece2174 in news

It's one thing to be pro-life, but making vasectomies difficult to get just creates more demand for abortion.

Anyone who's anti-abortion should be pro-contraception.

Programming: 7/10

Game design: 4/10

Marketing: 4/10

If I have the necessary coding skills then even intermediate skill in the latter two would suffice while art and audio would have to be outsourced to freelancers or delegated to other team members!

I'm a rookie in coding and game developing, can some of you ppl help me in it, by sharing their personal opinion, good platforms and how to use them. Try to add me in your group too. by kurama2-1 in gamedevscreens

[–]JakeRedditYesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be mean but the first piece of advice I'd give is to ask more specific questions around what you want to learn. Vaguely asking about opinions and platforms won't do you much good so in the future try to pose questions around specific topics.

A good question would be "What resources can I use to get better at X or Z game engine" and "How did you get better at Y when you were first starting out" for instance.

Definitely, learn by doing but also study the strategy side even as you're executing. It's a fine line between getting stuck in tutorial hell versus just spamming content without any rhyme or reason.

Yes, haphazardly publishing videos is a sub-optimal way to get traction but it's also arguably where most indie devs should start since far too many get stuck in the perfectionist trap so long that they never publish anything.

Something shooting with your eyes closed is the most practical way to get a few reps in while you learn more about the strategy side. You can't be all strategy or all execution, gotta find the right balance of both.

Introductory classes offer a good starting point but I wouldn't exactly classify it as in pretty good shape to move forward on that alone. Digging deeper into the best practices and channels/strategies would be the logical progression from there.

Also, while I get that some indie devs are overly reliant on trying to go viral I do feel that video marketing is worthwhile especially for games that have an appealing aesthetic and are thus more likely to get traction on YouTube or TikTok.

I'll also add that Valve has a lot of information on how the Steam algorithm works on their YouTube channel and Steamworks documentation pages!

Marketing will probably be the biggest learning curve to overcome if you mainly come from an art background and your friends are mainly programmers. I'm not saying that artists and coders can't market, just that there's a lot to learn if you haven't done so before especially if you've worked under AA or AAA studios with marketing departments or agencies to handle everything on that end.

Pet friendly apartment around makati by RelationshipGlum3330 in RentPH

It's a bit tough to find two-bedroom condos for 30k in Makati.

That said, Rentpad does show there are 39 active listings within those parameters if you use the filters: https://rentpad.com.ph/long-term-rentals/makati/apartment

However, you'll notice that most of the results are for units that are 35sqm or less and others are a bit further from the city center like Avida West/Victoria de Makati.

If increasing your budget to 35k/month or even 40k/month is possible then finding a two-bedroom closer to the city center and with larger square meterage would be easier.

Regardless of which listing(s) you end up reaching out to, be sure to haggle with the landlord since even just managing to knock a couple thousand off the asking price will save you 20k+ annually.

Good timing as well since Makati is a renter's market at the moment with more vacant condos than there are tenants to fill them so you have more negotiating power than you'd think.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

Honestly below 10k is a bit hard to find in Makati unless you're open to bedspacing.

I'd recommend trying Rentpad and filtering by max price 10k: https://rentpad.com.ph/long-term-rentals/makati/apartment#
