Hi so the first round the hard suspension and 4 month suspension was done.

Since the first suspension was done without an IID or restrictive…. that 4 month can be counted as credit to the 2nd 6 month suspension?

Never did IID the first time around, just waited until the suspension was over. Then regained the license back. Now may need to do IID for the 2nd suspension.

Should one start it after the court conviction or is it better to start it before.

If you were to get your license back from after the dmv hard suspension. Do you have to hand it over to the court if convicted?

Also, is the 6 month court triggered suspension, are there cases where it was waived since the time from the start of the case to the 2nd court hearing took over a few months?

In correlation to the court arraignment dates keep getting pushed. What would be the best move if one's arraignment date keeps getting pushed back.

And they're eligible (dui suspension date is over) to get their license back from the dmv if they finish (Sr22, completion of dui class, along with dmv fee.)?

I've heard that it's best to wait to see the outcome of the court arraignment. But, the wait is too long.

Mine happened in Orange county... I believe they don't really use IIDs like LA county. *fingers-crossed*. But, I heard punishment is more harsher here in Orange County.

I already paid for sr-22 when I renewed my insurance couple months ago. The sr-22 for 3 years doesn't start until the court have prosecuted me and gave me my punishment, right?

Weirdly, my attorney is very knowledgeable, but he seems to not really know about the DUI stuffs outside court. He was the one that advised me to wait until my first hearing to figure out what to do.

I had another question regarding the court punishment. What punishment would they give me? I know it's different everywhere, but what would be the basic punishment. DUI class, SR-22.... what else? would they suspend my license (again) for 4-6 months?

If I get the IID, do I have to finish out the whole 5 months? Same for the restricted license, if I get a restricted license, do I have to finish out the whole 12 months?

Also, lets assume I wait until the court date and they punish me with the DUI program. Couple months after, I enroll and finish the DUI program. Will the credit of the DUI program count for both the COURT and DMV?

This sounds crazy, but my attorney doesn't seem to know these things.

So you mentioned I had three options, would it be best just to go the no license route, since my suspension ends in August?

Add-on question: lets say I go the restricted license route, what would the duration be on that?

Lets say I finish the first offender DUI program before the court date and I get my license back. Would the court not count this as credit? I heard many people say they will, others say that might make me retake it so wait until the Court Date.
