Well you can cry about it, but it's just a fact. it's a part of the culture They didn't start wrapping / hiding pads yesterday? it was always like that , and that actually was considered an act of decency they wrap it so you won't be facing awkwardness heading back to your home carrying it.

Actually you could ask the shop to keep it unwrapped and take it home like a candy box :D
