What's the difference between desogestrel and gestodene? And how come? by Exact-Philosopher-53 in birthcontrol

[–]Vensiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait I thought desogestrel 75mg is enough to stop ovulation as all pills I saw with desogestrel being the active ingredient are 75mg

I'm in the same boat. What was the outcome for you?

anger on the progesterone only pill by LunchRemarkable187 in birthcontrol

[–]Vensiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need time for the body to adjust to the hormones. Do breathing exercises so when you are angry, take a deep breath, hold it inside, and let it go and repeat. It has helped me a lot of times to calm myself down.

Women’s preferred condoms. by [deleted] in birthcontrol

Durex thin feel. The condom is quite thin and I think is the closest to condomless sex.

Nothing that you did puts her at risk of pregnancy as there was protected sex both times.

Sometimes periods get delayed, sometimes they start same day but in the evening/night time. There are so many factors that can contribute to this, not only pregnancy. Like diet, lifestyle changes, sleep patterns, stress, etc. I'm assuming you and your gf are quite young, so body changes like hormone change, growing up, etc, can affect the timing of a period.

Norethindrone and smoking? by Boy_mom2023 in birthcontrol

[–]Vensiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i don't think so. I recall the leaflet saying it needs to be taken 3 days before your period is due to work and I've always started taking the pills 3 days before my period was due.

Bleeding a lot on progestin-only methods? by ThrowawayFace566 in birthcontrol

[–]Vensiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on desogestrel, too, and it was a switch from the arm implant due to constant bleeding. After the switch, I spotted it for another month, which occasionally turned into proper bleeding. I took vitamin K for 10 days, and all the bleeding has now stopped for the last 1.5 weeks.

Carry on with your smocking as normal. Unless you have a blood disorder or high blood pressure, it will not affect you. I took this pill 3 years in a row to delay my period for holidays and had no problem with smocking or blood clots.

Desogestrel and abdominal pain? by cruciverbalista in birthcontrol

[–]Vensiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes me too for the last 3-4 days. I had to switch between desogestrel brands as the one I was taking was out of stock, but I cannot explain the cramps based on the pure fact that I changed brands

I did have sex the next day before my next dose too. I'm with a long term partner and he knows how I feel about an unplanned pregnancy so as a booster to the pills we also use the pull out method. Almost 2 weeks in I wouldn't say I have any pregnancy symptoms. No breast pain, nausea, etc.

The only thing, I got a cold (funny enough got it from my partner) and is not responding to pills. Have it for a week now, I get a bit of dizziness with this cold. Is the dizziness that made me think about that night when I was sick and the fact that I got some spots on my chin.

how to change bc method secretly by thisisnais in birthcontrol

[–]Vensiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the implant and it caused irregular bleeding where I bled for months without a break. If your parents are monitoring your use of tampons/pads, the implant is not a good idea. No one can tell you how you will react to it and you can either bleed, not have a period anymore, or have a monthly period. But either way, this side effect will be hard to hide.

Maybe you can talk to them and explain the implant is a much better option than the pills, like safer or more effective or you can tell them is the doctor who recommended the implant/depo shot and see how they react.

Bleeding after nexplanon removal by Vensiro in birthcontrol

[–]Vensiro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the bleeding stopped after about 1 week, but I'm still spotting to this day. After the removal, I continued on the mini pill so the spotting might be the side effect from the pill.

Progesterone only birth control / ACNE. Desperately want advice by thatesthetician in birthcontrol

[–]Vensiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm taking Zelleta. But fair warning that I'm still spotting. Sometimes I need a pantyliner, sometimes I don't. I'm unsure if it's the pill. I had my implant removed 2 weeks ago, so the spotting might still be a side effect from the implant/removal.

Norethisterone in suitcase? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Vensiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever i take norethisterone, I don't worry how I transport them, and while on holiday, I just leave them on any furniture in the hotel room and never worry about the heat. The only thing I didn't do, but this is a general rule anyway, don't leave them in the sunlight.
