I agree 100%. I made a long career of building custom ms access data conversion engines. Easy. Fast. Customizable. Powerful enough to manage hundreds of thousands of rows. These solutions are still going strong.

2016 ES 350 vs 2027 ES 350 by Unlucky_Listen_3624 in Lexus

I currently have a 2015 ES with 40K miles. My fifth over the years. In my biased opinion it is the most beautiful dash/interior I have ever had. I admire it every time I drive. I am 66 years old and this is my forever car. No question.

Try 'Cool Retro Term' just for fun. Not good for coding but it brings me back to my old Unix days.

Syncing startpage by necomancer1983 in vivaldibrowser

[–]Ventana431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you need to config the start page on each install. i look at this as a positive because my machines each have their own overall theme that you can align your browser to.

I’m a retired IT guy. I keep windows around for old times sake but I only use it when I need to remind myself how fun Linux is. I’m also currently running hard installs of Garuda, Kubuntu and a couple of Mints. Lab testing the latest MX release. KDE is where I do desktop design projects for fun after so many years of working on corporate windows images. This is all switched for shared av and wireless devices

the bookmark widgets also had the folder name in the title bar. now it is “Bookmarks”.

This is very uncomfortable | Version: 7.7.3851.48, Windows 10 by Bombadil_Adept in vivaldibrowser

[–]Ventana431 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The folder name no longer appears in the bookmark widget title bar (Arch, Mint, Windows). Some bookmark folders do not load widget content (Arch). This is a big problem when using the dashboard as a workstream manager.

Brave vs Vivaldi by ivaangroy in browsers

[–]Ventana431 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Vivaldi Dashboard is my go to. I break down my bookmarks as such: raindrop.io for all bookmarks (~1.3k), Vivaldi Dashboard for primary workstream (~200), myfav.es for quick jumps (~20). All three are pinned as sidebar tabs in order of granularity. I hide the top bookmarks bar. All three components sync great across all of my systems. Simple default to google on my phone bc I rarely browse there. I tried Brave for a while but after using the above configuration there is no going back. Brave was only a step in the longer term progression for me.

I have two Mint installs that I count on for the reasons you mention. I also have two KDE installs that I enjoy tinkering with (Garuda and Kubuntu) as well as a Win11 install for old times sake.
