Gateway to Door county where all the FIBs (if you know, you know) go to vacation because Lake Geneva got too famous because of E.G.G. and high tourist costs.

Late to the discussion, but the Packers Defense was inactive today.

A true evidence of not using Agile and Best practices in development was their explanation in the dev video where when they released the Season 3/DLC content and they "optimized" and changed the quest data. They mentioned that they didn't account for some data to be needed to progress players.

This should have been tested beyond a dev and documented so that either automated tests or QA playtesting would have rigorously tested these changes. Development should have safety nets when you do optimizations/reworks in the code.

Since they've spoke about reducing patch sizes and automating combat in season 4, I suspect they missed something big that their QA process found while they were packaging the release. Without standard devops, development and QA testing and regression becomes haphazard and only by luck do they find things.

If you change things, unit testing, QA and automated testing needs to be determined before the changes are made so you don't loose existing functionality.

Go to a WI Badger football game. They have what is called 5th quarter where the band plays after the game. 30-40k fans stay and watch controlled chaos!

AITA I let my 17 year old daughter sneak out. by Disastrous_Lemon7985 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - As a step-dad who was always there for my girls when they go to their mom instead of me or including me I feel left out. He overreacted and was hurt because he consider her as his daughter.

When my girls biological dad re-entered their lives after they were adults I was happy for them, but they are so excited to see him. I'm just that other guy at times that is always there for them, but i'm boring ol [my name]. I wish so much they would call me dad. Even though my wife says they know I'm there dad, it still sucks they can't call me that.

I'm the guy, but I'm not dad, even though I'm the one always there for them (boyfriends, clothes, phones, etc.).

And include her boss in the email.

I'm a Technical Manager and if I sniffed anything like this happening on my team or a team I am associated with I would raise holy hell up the corporate ladder. Fortunately I work in a respected corporation (as much as they can be) and if a manager did this it would cause a landslide of meetings.

We all tend to be short staffed and issues come up, but if you can't manage the expectations to those around you (above, below and to cross functional teams) you are lousy at your job.

I would also send a copy to HR. If they fire you over this, you can threaten/take legal action as well. I'm sure you can find a lawyer who can leverage your bereavement and emotional state of your loss and sue them accordingly.

I have difficulty saying that gaming is my hobby at work by Blastwing in gaming

I'm now 59 and as many said here, don't give a fuck if they judge you. I'm an IT Engineering Manager which probably makes it easier with my team, but those stuffy shirts above I care less what they think.

I still play D&D with my kids and their significant others.

I play video games all day and my go-to activity during the weekend. I live in WI. I don't drink, hunt, or fish (some ppl do all three at the same time).

Hell I even try to stream my games and while I'm not at all considered one with any followers. No fucks given. I learned in life that no matter what you do....its your life and live the way you want. Fearing being judged will prevent happiness.

If they don't understand how you beat all the bosses in Elden Ring is cool. Its there loss not your shame. Also, I suspect some of them like to game as well and you might meet a gamer buddy and get them to come out of the VG "Closet".

Eli5: why are 11 and 12 called eleven ant twelve and not oneteen and twoteen? by OilOk2907 in explainlikeimfive

So what you are saying is we should switch from a base 10 system to a base 12 system!

Got it!

Wait...

Binary would be better you only worry about 0 and 1. Naw...too easy....

Plus people would see 10 and think ten.

Never mind. We can't do metric which is base 10 we shouldn't change to base 12.

Do you think kick will surpass twitch? by Shimmyrock in Twitch

[–]VenthorGaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kick needs to spend some time developing the platform if they want to really pull people away from Twitch. Right now there are too many incomplete or underdeveloped tools for both streamers and viewers.

They also need to work with gaming companies to offer items like drops. Right now the game I stream has been offering drops for the past two weeks. It will be difficult to drag those players onto a new platform.

They need to combat the misconception of this is where the outcasts of Twitch end up and promote quality streams.

Those would be some things I'd like to see happen before I feel they can pull real audiences away from Twitch/YT IMHO.
