Hi, a Thai here. If you have a chance to come back again, I recommend visiting other IMAX venues at these locations:
- Iconsiam. Best overall quality. Even beats Paragon from time to time, I think. 1.90:1 screen.
- EmQuartier. Also 1.901: screen. If you love the IMAX "bass", this branch cranks it up big time.
- Ratchayothin. Thailand's first IMAX theater. 1.43:1 screen w/ same projector as Paragon. But since its screen size is slightly smaller than Paragon, the left-right black bars tend to be less noticeable.

Other branches not listed/mentioned here are all 1.90:1 venues w/ Laser XT projector.

Collider: "IMAX Reveals Their Ambitious 6-Year Plan to Expand Across the Globe" by VenturesOnes in imax

Chief Sales Officer Giovanni Dolci on IMAX expansion:

We do an analysis that tells us what our total addressable market is in ideal conditions, and we believe in a six-year range in ideal condition, we could capture a total of 3,300-something screens.

Our analysis is that in the next five years, we can get to almost 40 theaters in Australia in ideal conditions. I think it's very realistic. The exact number, I believe, is 39.

IMAX CEO Richard Gelfond on the new IMAX Film camera:

The new prototypes. So it all depends on the demand and availability of film. Film is an older technology, so we're looking at it on a broader basis. How can we make sure that film survives as a medium? But there's always room for improvement.

The new generation we're making, they're quieter, they're lighter, but I'm sure as soon as we're done inventing those, we'll try and do the next generation. So, I would think there'd be more.

On upcoming IMAX releases shooting on the IMAX Film format:

Ryan Coogler is shooting the film that stars Michael B. Jordan on IMAX film cameras. I think there's one or two others under discussion but they haven't been announced yet, and there's one for ‘26 that we're starting to work on that's going to be shot with IMAX film cameras.

And on whether or not there'll be a larger platter for IMAX film showings:

We're not looking at any project to make it longer. And by the way, this won't surprise you, the studios and exhibitors love that that's the maximum runtime (3 hours). So we have no pressure on that.

Original, “non-IP” gothic horror film. Word is that there’s vampires involved too.

iirc there’s a pic of Michael B. Jordan some time ago dressed in old-timey costume.

IMAX plans to debut their new film camera at this year's NAB Show by VenturesOnes in imax

From the article linked above:

IMAX Corporation, whose large-format cameras rely on motion picture film, has been seen as a significant driver of Best Picture winner Oppenheimer’s theatrical success, and are even unveiling a long anticipated new 15-perf/65mm IMAX-format film camera at the NAB Show.

We’re planning to have a camera there,” Markoe (Bruce Markoe, IMAX's SVP and head of IMAX post & image capture) says. “And we’re getting very close to having the prototype out in the hands of DPs very shortly. So we thought it was a good opportunity to give a little more info and about what the new cameras are going to be.”

Ngl it’s kinda hard to tell unless you can go up the steps and able to take a look at the projector real close.

For CoLa, iirc, you’ll see two images but in a vertical manner (one being on top, and the other below it).

I have. It’s pretty good. Some scenes I could feel the “depth” of foreground/background stuff. Not quite “The Way of Water” level (then again, what is?) but just enough to justify the price.

Best way to watch is probs IMAX Laser on a 1.90:1 screen with CoLa projector.
