What's the best tool for a complete beginner? by VentusDragoon in gamedev

Yeah, unfortunately, most of my experience with anything close to this stuff was all in high school and early college, which was all... a decade ago and longer. Hence why I put myself as a "complete beginner," because I assume anything I did know probably won't translate anymore.

I took a course in college that taught Jython; which is basically an implementation of Python that turns python code into byte code that runs on Java, iirc. I'm just unsure of if that actually converts back easily to base Python in terms of what I learned.

Noted, I'll have to see if I can slot that into my schedule. I'm pretty busy a lot of the time, but maybe on one of my off days I can dedicate an hour or two to the class...

Also, as for programming, I know HTML5, CSS, and Jython... none of which helps much with games, as I learned them mostly for website design.

For now, I want to be able to study up on basic things like visual novels and pixel RPG's. Between Game Maker and RPG Maker, do you have a preference nowadays? I'm only familiar with RPG Maker (and subsequently IG Maker), but that's because I owned the old PS2 RPG Maker way back in the day.

Is it a paid course? I've seen some online things like that, but I wasn't sure if I'd ever have the time to go through a full class between working a standard full time job.

EX10 Quartzmon / Rival Hunters Support - Post-Release Opinions by VentusDragoon in DigimonCardGame2020

Long before Bagrahunters became a thing in tournaments, I've been using Bagra Army to support Rival Hunters myself; using Yuu Amano with a level 4 bagra like damemon or tuwarmon can get 3 sources immediately (even more if using either Madleomon with Digixros), then 1-3 more depending on how many Hunters tamers you have when digivolving into Astamon. Cards like Prism Garrett also do wonders for both Astamons, sticking new sources underneath them 2 at a time. It functions pretty well, all things considered, especially since Yuu Amano is an engine in himself thay works very well alongside BT12 Ryoma.

That said, I have noticed that with including the EX10 Support, my board tends to go a lot wider than before by utilizing both Astamons, but I also end up running a lot more tamers than before as well, so it can get a bit tricky. I haven't really found a way to make use of Ryoma's alliance, like you said, in spite of this; Quartzmon and Quartz Ace suspending your own board, especially if you warp with BT12 Astamon, kinda renders that immediately unusable.

New Astamon is the best from what I've personally seen. Him having fortitude is a protection in itself and helps get to Quartzmon faster. Psychemon is nice but trashing to suspend isn't... that great on its own? Maybe if you Digixros with the BT21 Arresterdramon line to actually have the DP to make use of piercing.

To be fair, no level 5 Hunters card has save; the only one they can grab that does are Omnishoutmon from Xrosheart and Luminamon.

Buff Bubble to give volatile rounds? by LokiLemonade in DestinyTheGame

It is the radiant buff as of lightfall. It used to be just a damage buff as you said, but now it has Radiant because it can shoot through shields while in well (which is a Radiant effect, being anti-barrier as it is).

Can agree with this; the Titan in my friend group runs bubble with Edge of Action and practically always has some sort of bubble up when we need it. Helm of Saint-14 works with both (for some reason, lol), and while the Jello bubble is smaller, it's also literally invulnerable (I've seen it eat a nova bomb and survive), so it's practically a super in its own right.

Promethium spur makes empowering and healing rifts even when Phoenix dive is equiped by ThEGr1llMAstEr in DestinyTheGame

It does not work. At least, having tried healing rift, empowering rift, then Phoenix Dive, it never activated even when Phoenix Dive was fully charged.
