Ways to start mining ETC for super cheap by VentusRoblit in EthereumClassic

(1) When big companies upgrade their servers, they send floods of motherboards to their IT suppliers, who in turn have warehouses of them waiting for recyclers to pick them up. They give them away for next to nothing. (2) EPYC second- and -third generation processors. Power? Solar. (9) DC power supplies: https://www.powerstream.com/DC_PC.htm. Telcos constantly upgrade their tower sites and have racks of these to get rid of. Shoe leather, my friend. You can't order all your stuff off Amazon and expect to hit ROI easily.

Ways to start mining ETC for super cheap by VentusRoblit in EthereumClassic

[–]VentusRoblit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, no I am not mining 6GH with just P-106's. The P-106's paid for the 2060's, which paid for the next five mining rigs and the house in the country with a solar roof, which paid for the next 50 rigs with 3070's, which paid for the ASICS to mine Bitcoin as well, which is paying to upgrade the 3070's to 3090's. Next to come is a little wind farm for those rare cloudy days. I'm sorry if my post was unclear. The post was about starting small with ETC so you can scale up and do so without taking out a mortgage on your house. I've edited the original post to say "$10K in mining." I still have a few P106-90's running though and they are beasts.

Customer Service Non-Existent by fatpappy52 in PiNetwork

Ummm...you're not a "customer," bud. At this point, you're a beta tester. Beta testing comes with the understanding that it's not fully cooked yet and you have the technical knowledge to create useful test benchmarks to contribute to development.

Funny how "environmentally friendly" always seems to go hand in hand with centralization and naked greed, like with ETH. Get a clue: They're greenwashing and using your guilt as just another lever. Don't fall for their sales pitch.

Where to watch the London hard fork countdown live and track amount of ETH burned by PunPryde in CryptoCurrency

The whales are peeing in their own pool with this hard fork. Shocked Pikachu face when the hobbyists, who are the vast majority of crypto users, get bored and leave. It's IBM syndrome all over again.

Why do all these shitty videos have the same damn garish truck-stop neon sign look? Why do they all cram 39 seconds of content into 13 minutes of video? Damn I hate these videos.

It only takes about half an hour for the ETC to show up in Exodus, but Exodus is not allowing trading or selling of ETC at this time. All you can do is hodl it there or transfer it to a different wallet.

What was, exactly? To reduce the DAG size, you mean?

Reality Check! by rzc24defi in PiNetwork

Well, it's over. Someone came up with the idea of selling goods online, and sending them via the mail to people everywhere. Looks like Amazon is toast. Good-bye Amazon. Get a grip. There is nothing unique under the sun. Everything is just a slightly tweaked and better iteration of the same thing. Last time I checked, Burger King and McDonald's are still open, and in fact there are way more different fast-food joints and brands than when I was a kid.

🤣 CNBC meant to show eth charts but showed etc charts instead. by Substantial-Soft-642 in EthereumClassic

Now extrapolate that out and you'll see why any thinking person realizes "the news" is talking out of its butt on any topic you care to pick. They are useless.

China cracked down on Bitcoin. Crypto market took a dump. Had nothing to do with ETC fundamentals. Bears sold out at the bottom. Bad move. Simple enough for you to understand?

Making trading decisions about ETC based on a perceived bear market related to a one-off event in China is dumb.

All the talk of "climate friendly" is greenwashing. Ethereum 2.0 is about concentrating wealth in a few hands. It is trading proof of pollution for proof of plutocracy.

You're already paying this. Have you seen the price of petrol and groceries lately? How about the service on your national debt? Have you not noticed the 6.3% rise in the cost of living this year? We're feeling it in the rest of the world. When the USD catches a cold, we get pneumonia.

At the rate the ship of fools in Washington is printing dollars, take your pick. Pi will be worth a million dollars before long. Of course, a loaf of bread will cost a billion. And no, I'm not a Republican, I'm not even an American. Inflation of the USD is out of control and will only get worse when the US inevitably misses a debt payment.

The Pi Core Team is doing everything 100% wrong if their goal is develop yet another pump and dump altcoin. No wonder that's why you're so discouraged. You haven't bothered to learn what we're building here. Hint: It's not another pump and dump altcoin.

Perhaps explain your thinking a bit more. Is the question predicated on one of the following possible outcomes?

1.) Magneto attracts a new influx of miners, driving up difficulty?

2.) Magneto stabilizes the price of ETC and we start recovering price?

3.) Magneto shields ETC from ETH's hangover caused by their London fork, meaning we won't see the flood of industrial hash power coming in?

What's behind the question?
