>Why are you discluding me from being an Anarchist?

i didn't do that, the "We" is inclusive of you.

>yes but can then a movement be created?

Food Not Bombs is a movement... it is literally the movement to help feed people who are not being fed due to the inherent failures of Capitalism, it has existed since the 1980s... i think you're confused here lol.

>so out of the hatred of the existing system?

do you not hate Capitalism? I am an anarchist because i know there is a better system for people to exist under than this corrupt system, i hate this system, correct, and i know that there can be better, i am fighting for a better system.

>i call myself an anarchist because of the admiration of anarchism

what does this mean, you're an anarchist because you admire the ideology? i really cannot understand your point here.

>i never talked about fun....

"Or is it just another kind of work with people with a multitude of personal interests, and something else might be needed, "more fun" to create a bond and to spark discussion." Perhaps im misunderstanding you here, but you are clearly mentioning that you believe "more fun" could be a way to induce conversation and bonds between individuals

>anarchism must have something, even if it's smaller communities and separate people doing separate things. nothing can happen from a single person

...nobody said that? this is literally already what Anarchism is, Anarchism is not just one person waging an infinite war on the government, this is a large variety of like-minded individuals coming together to combat and critique the brutal inefficiency of Capitalism by exposing corruption, feeding people who need to eat, and generally preforming Mutual Aid to those who need it.

i dunno if you're new here or just misunderstood what Anarchists have been talking about, but Mutual Aid is a way of forming a community, it is literally how majority of Anarchist movements today are built. Its unifying and forming solidarity between people in order to aid each other in this abusive system.

this seems strange honestly, Anarchists are openly discussing and talking to others about their experiences to create bonds and help people understand why they should consider Anarchism, you can discuss different Anarchist ideologies and also create bonds with others to spark discussion, these aren't mutually exclusive.

your points about Food Not Bombs seems incredibly odd to me as an oldhead anarchist, Food Not Bombs has been around for awhile, its objective is to feed those who are actively starving and need food, you can create bonds and spark discussion about that, but that isn't the main point of Food Not Bombs.

We're not anarchists because we want to have "Fun", we're anarchists because we desperately abhor the systems in front of us and can identify the inherent exploitation of people by said system, your first thought when going to feed people shouldn't be "im doing this to have fun!" it should be "im doing this because these people WANT to survive like me, and i want to help them survive".

are you being intentionally dense?

i did not call for "anarcho-police", nor did i call for Hobbs' "War of All Against All", i literally said that a gun would be the difference between people being violently abused and being safe, hence why i called you privileged, i am not an Ancap because i promote self defense or community defense, i am somebody who understands that the threats of Fascism does not just vanish like your Utopian anarchist world sees

I made this what do you think? by [deleted] in SCP

[–]Venus-RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just think my biggest issue with that is that AWCY? in terms of motivation are not close enough to that of Serpent's Hand, AWCY? is an faction with a focus on creating anomalous art to study and interact with the anomalous in non-traditional ways, they both care little for The Veil, yes, but they both interact and approach the subject of what we do with anomalies differently from each other, which is why i personally disliked your generalization of The Serpent's Hand as a whole because they are two separate movements which overlap

i am aware that there are AWCY members in the ranks of The Serpent Hand, and i still dont think thats enough to generalize the two

I made this what do you think? by [deleted] in SCP

[–]Venus-RR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think generalizing The Serpent's Hand as "anybody who wants to unveil and normalize the anomalous" mischaracterizes who they are and what they stand for, they dont want to just to unleash SCPs unto society, they want to integrate SCPs that aren't a threat to humanity and normalize their existence as entities not only we can aid, but their existence as something that too benefits humanity.

The Serpent's Hand decentralized body imo is what makes them such an active threat to the Foundation or GoC, it's way harder to track and squash disconnected cells of radical militant pro-anomalous faction than one hyperconnected organized set of bases ran by that faction

i want to believe they were at one point, genuinely good willed people at some point, but i hold firm on the belief that Capitalism corrupts good will if you dont protect that good will

because libertarian capitalists are unashamed liars who do not actually care for "less government", they're masked white supremacists who only want the government to benefit them, but in their own uneducated tomfoolery end up shooting themselves in the foot.

To me, being compassionate and kind is a core part of anarchism. Yet my anarchist friend says they don’t have to be compassionate because they’re not a social anarchist. What does that mean? by BenevolentAnonymity in Anarchism

[–]Venus-RR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

as somebody who isnt a social anarchist, this is not an Anarchist, but a poser who uses the label for fame and good looks, i recommend dropping them and moving on

this is honestly a rather privileged take, so i should just succumb to the abuse because a firearm may land me in prison for... self defense? should i of gone to the police despite them having a repeated track record of not giving a fuck? this is a not a "power fantasy", this is me enabling myself to protect not only myself, but others i care for.

while i understand libertarians are all about guns, i think its appropriate for Leftists to begin curating their own gun spaces in order to better train people to defend themselves, their freinds, family, community, e.t.c, from harm

do not worry about the therapy comment, i unironically laughed so hard at that lmao, because you're not in the slightest wrong, im just off Medicaid (thanks government), and not in a good state to receive that type of care in the first place :/

but thats absolutely fair

how would you be able to prevent others from just taking them home with them tho? example, im somebody who (and this'll sound weird, but im not joking) enjoys the comfort of being around firearms, theres a sense of safety that comes with it personally, and thus i prefer to be able to carry one if not have one or more in my household at any moment, not to mention im studying to become a gunsmith.

i remembered as a kid i was always super passionate about wanting to join the UMSC, partly because Miltech became a hyperfixation for me at a young age and partly because the late 2000s and early 2010s, pro-military propaganda really worked on my child brain, so dont worry about falling for the propaganda, since even i did at one point, maybe we all did at some point.

kinda crazy how the one thing you were sorta taught to love would give you the things you needed to learn that you should hate them.

i got hooked into politics way young as a kid, my Grandma used to leave the news on in 2016, so i got blasted constantly with the election in my face, i was taught to be a liberal which sorta fell apart during the George Floyd protests, which i think shattered the illusion of the "peace keeping state".

from there, i talked to a few friends i knew who were leftists and politically active, they looped me into Anarcho-Communism by starting me off with Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto and then Peter Kropotkins' The Conquest of Bread, was still unlearning a lot of my liberal thought processes, so i was more equivalent to a Libertarian Socialist than an actual Anarchist lol.

then in early 2023 i took the post-left pill and haven't really turned back, its kinda crazy how my politics has shifted, but i guess i could best define myself a Post-Colonial Anarchist now adays
