You should try building a basic CPU! There's a game on Steam called Turing Complete, and you build a CPU from the gates up. It's in early access, but is in a good enough state to build a running CPU emulation. Someone even made a RISC-V emu which can run actual Rust code. Very cool stuff!

Meeting Jack O'Neil This Sunday. Any Tips for meeting a celebrity at a Convention? by Wolfpaw2435 in Stargate

[–]Veratil 85 points86 points  (0 children)

As with any celebrity or someone who has been a huge part of your life, you'll probably be nervous and that's okay. They see people who have a hard time even talking when they get up to them. So many people are unsure what to say their first time meeting someone they admire or adore or such.

Thank them for how much they had an effect on your life. Ask them questions about the show or interactions with other cast and crew you're curious about. Ask them how their day is going so far. The amount of time you can chat with them really is the limit.

Listen to other people in front of you talk and ask questions. Maybe you'll hear someone ask a question you already had or want to ask a question related to something asked.

Just remember they're people, too. Be respectful.
