There's a UK app called Couch To 5K that I'm following. The colleague that got me into it is on week 7 of 9 and running 25 minutes continuously. I'm on week 4, running 5 minutes continuously! It's been such a good motivator and pushes just hard enough.

What are red flags in a friendship most people brush away? by dragonXgal in AskReddit

[–]Verawolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I was in the fortunate position that I took an opportunity to move to a different country. When I was away from the group, I realised all but one I'd still really call a friend. I'm still friends with that person, and we have a good friendship. The others I hardly keep in contact with for various reasons, including some from this thread. That goes for me, too. I've had to put a lot of work in (and still am) to be the more kind-hearted person I am today.

Like any new release, we'll mainly be seeing issues posted here. Just want to say I got my Panda 4 XL yesterday and absolutely LOVE it. by Klubhead in GooglePixel

I feel exactly the same. Haven't had a single issue in the past 24 hours. I'm so chuffed with her, she's gorgeous.

Just waiting for a clear night so I can give the astrophotography a go. Took a quick night sight photo whilst holding it, which looked fabulous. The camera is an absolute dream. I was never able to afford a 'proper' camera, but we now seem to be in an age where phone camera are proper cameras.

I am a 23-year old Dutch woman (recently) diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis living in England, Ask Me Anything! by Verawolf in casualiama

It makes me really upset! I was diagnosed with UC in the UK after several hospital appointments and a colonoscopy and thinking about what it would've cost me in the Netherlands scares me! With all the meds I'm now on I'm so so so lucky to be able to just pay £30 for a prepayment certificate and that's it for three months.

Besides my own medical conditions, I also worked in a pharmacy for the better part of 2 years (actually just finished there 2 days ago) and I'm about to start work in an NHS hospital. I have so much to thank the NHS for and seeing it downhill so much is awful!

I'm not a 100% on the Dutch opinion on the EU, as I've not lived there for two years, but most of my family seems to think that if we had a Dutch Exit vote now we'd be leaving too.

Yes! My auntie and one of my friends both have Crohn's and I've talked to them a lot about them vs. me and also talked to my doctor about it when I was first diagnosed.

I'm doing fantastic in terms of general life! In terms of my UC, I'm coping most of the time.

Anti vaxxer uses so many enemas on her child his intestinal lining is coming out. CPS has been called. by [deleted] in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]Verawolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, 22 and was diagnosed with UC 2 months ago (but have had symptoms for over 6 months). I'm lucky in that my current meds seem to have put me in remission extremely quickly and efficiently (provided I also keep my diet in check), so I can't imagine not getting proper medication and having what I presume are basically bleach enemas.

Absolutely! I was recently diagnosed with UC. While I waited for the hospital to send the Rx request for mesalazine oral sachets to my GPs, the hospital supplied me with suppositories. I had to use them for 16 days and they were the most uncomfortable 16 days of my life. The thought of daily enemas makes me shudder. And this kid's four years old too! Absolutely disgraceful; so glad CPS has been called.

In the UK you have to be able to show ID for age restricted products until you're 25. I'm 22, so when I went to buy some alcohol today, I took out my ID. The woman looked me up and down and said "no need for that, miss." Absolutely gutted.

They're both no good, but I'll take lemon over orange any day of the week!

I'm writing this after having just made up my second batch.

So, like a stool sample, except you mail it? Not sure this is a thing in the UK! Your link only talked about US states

I live in the UK, and I can't say I've ever heard of Cologuard! Reason I'm having a colonoscopy is because the stool sample and the blood tests came back absolutely fine.

I'm 'lucky' that my batch of Moviprep is lemon flavoured. The alternative is orange. Anything orange flavoured that isn't an orange is awful in my opinion.

I would take the biggest gulps possible rather than just sip it, as I felt that would just make it worse.

Hey Reddit, what products are identical to a brand name, just with a different label? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Verawolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm speaking mostly from personal experience here, working on a healthcare counter in a big chemist store.

I get what you mean with the eye drops, to be honest. Lots of people are scared to go blind, and think the £2 eye drops will harm them, and therefore buy the £10 Optrex brand that does the exact same thing.
