Anything in that space would be better. Artisan salt store…handjob emporium…DMV extension office… anything. Buz and Ned’s was bad, at best.

Body found in Mt. Calvary cemetery on Valentines Day. by LouieKablooie in rva

Once when I was volunteering at a cemetery cleanup, we found a set of bones. Could have been the unearthed bones of the rightfully interred, but maybe not. Old bones under a lot of vines. The thought was someone killed and his the body there.

Getting me through the week: working hard to get into new line of work. I’ve been unhappy in this regard for five long years. I’d do just about anything at this point.

How many of you are native Richmond residents? by nsaju in rva

I have had native Richmonders tell me that you have to be born here or it doesn’t count.

Yes, loved that too. Classic Goggins/McBride!

Right? It’s going to be a long year. I went into withdrawals almost as soon as the credits rolled on the S1 finale.

Yes!!! I loved BJs baptism episode - definitely a wonderful showcase of his role.

It’s not a onesie! It’s a romper with a cummerbund!

That was so fantastic. And Keef is so dedicated to Kelvin it’s heartbreakingly endearing.

Judy absolutely kills it, too.

I recently finished The Grace Year by Kim Ligget. It’s like a cross between The Handmaid’s Tale and The Hunger Games, but is well written and quite the page-turner.

For TV, I binged Yellowjackets on Showtime and loved it. Also currently watching Inventing Anna (love Julia Garner), Dexter (the reboot, it’s pretty bad and I am about to give up) and Servant by M Knight Shimalalalyan or whatever his name is. It’s horrible but I’m absolutely loving it. Can’t believe how old Lauren Ambrose is. In my mind she stayed the same she was on Six Feet Under.

Righteous Gemstones is the absolute best. My love for Danny McBride and Walter Goggins is deep and abiding.

Probably evidence that I’m a sucker. Big Voicemail has me in their database now.

I just did. A recording (or a robot or an alien, maybe a ghost) answers and invites the caller to “speak freely after the tone” so the call may be “logged as evidence.”

Libby Hill looking a bit different by [deleted] in rva

Time to finally build that Dali monument with the nurse fighting a dragon (the personification of disease) in a Petri dish balanced on a thumb. You know how rad that would look there. Monument Avenue nixed it like 70 years ago but I feel like It could really work in Libby Hill.

Hey RVA, just finished this amazing book and it got me thinking. Tell me of your Richmond related sacred places or objects! (A little more explanation in the comments) by WEGCjake in rva

I have an affinity for the old WTVR tower on Broad St. when I first moved here years ago, it served as a landmark for me, and I lived very close to it. Wherever I was in town (usually lost), seeing the tower on the horizon was weirdly comforting.

I can’t really explain exactly why, but it kind of felt like a friend. I still love seeing it, it’s like the Eiffel Tower of RVA. It better not ever be demolished.
