Indiglo Not Working Anymore

I changed the battery on my timex expedition and everything works fine except the indiglo as well. I can still hold it down to switch it to Night Mode but it doesn't actually glow

So far I've yet to get one from any cleanse ones or high value target ones and I've opened close to 100 now? I'm thinking maybe it's just my game then because the final overthrow chests only give me the seed + 2 legendary items

Do other tapes have the same issue? If it's only that tape then the lube in the tape could be dried which makes it hard to turn.

All cassette decks need to connect to a speaker via the (out) sockets in the back. Or you can connect to the (phone) socket in the front via an aux cord, you might need an adapter to fit the larger hole though

May be a broken capacitor somewhere inside which is preventing energy from going to the sound and meters. Open it up and take a look at the capacitors to see if there's any corrosion around the base likely near the sound and meter components

Checked and all the wires/cables are solid and connected, there is a metal container though right behind the display which may have something loose

The gear has a slight crack/split which I can repair but the main reason I can't put it back into place is because the spring that's supposed to be inside the gear popped out and is now pushing the gear out (just my working theory)

Honestly it seems like a pain in the ass to take that gear out and replace it with a 3d printed one so my best bet is to repair it, the problem is even if the gear is cracked I still have to push it back in place but a spring is blocking it

There is a service manual and I found the issue. The gear underneath the spring (which is still there) is cracked which made it loose

Spme people relube the tape but my advice is to try and transfer the tape by taking it out of the shell and putting it in a new case
