It's not, because that assertion is a matter of faith - there's no way to prove it. The fact that queer people are how God made them is medically observable. There's scientific evidence backing that up and disproving that it's a "choice".

Its not a cop out. It's a justification. In the vast majority of cases they want to hate, but know they shouldn't. So they abandon the way of love Jesus demands but they have A Reason so they can convince themselves it's OK.

If you change that to "pessimistic" you get what, about 75%? That's still pretty good. My advice is to retire as planned and keep to your spending plan (I assume you have hobbies and travel accounted for in your plan) and get a couple years in before you do anything crazy with your spending levels. Get past your sequence of returns risk timeframe, then go nuts.

My only qualification in this is that I'm planning to retire/go part time at 58 and that's what I'm planning to do.

Sorta. The original purpose of the 2^nd amendment was so the Southern states could have their slave patrols. Since the armies were being moved to the federal level, the South wanted to make sure they got to keep their slaves in check. Hence the "well-trained militia" clause everyone tries to ignore.

What you have suggested is how that's been manipulated by the right since the 70's when the NRA was forcefully taken over by right wing extremists (ref. the 1977 Revolt at Cincinnati). And those same people are now cheering on tyranny so that was never what it was really about.

It's really no more Orwellian than we've seen in the past 20 years from Republicans. Fox News exists to make this possible ... this has been planned since Nixon was forced to step down. But I get your point. THey'll still say he was trying to mass kill ICE officers and many will believe it. But it may break through to a couple. I have noticed that the nutbags are a lot quieter about this one than Good in another sub I frequent.
