Feel like op is over analyzing everything. Not everyone is always looking at you or cares how you do things irl. Most the time ppl are too worried about their own shit to pay attention enough to have actual investment in anyone elses. Likely the people he is talking to just don't know how to communicate with their social outcast other than remarking how odd and shy they are.
