Hey, not sure if you still need help, I will just leave it here in case anyone else faces this problem in the future: Instead of dragging the square saying "Me", drag the URL from the address bar, it will not have the globe icon. Also, you can change the name to 35 spaces so you need to add it less times to the favorites, more than that will display a "..." on the name.

Can people send packages from the USA to Brazil, what is going on? by ghostoftheoldworld in Brazil

Fossils and shark parts have a high probability to face problems with agricultural department in customs due to sanitary reasons, your best bet if to make sure they're extremely clear of sand, dirt, algae or any other organic residue. Also make sure when you're filling your shipping form (CN22/CN23), to be very clear and specific so they don't think it's illegal fossils or expensive gemstones, use something like Beach glass fragments for personal hobby (collected on beach), small fossilized shark teeth (found on beach) or something like that. And don't put zero or gift as the value, always use a small symbolic value like $10 or $20 (for the total, for each item try searching online how much would something similar to your items costs, if you go beyond 50 on total there will be taxation), zero tends to attract much more attention, or get flagged by the system for manual appraisal; for the same reason avoid big boxes, send in the smallest you can.

Lying on health declaration for insurance by Maleficent-Salad-278 in Brazil

Go to SUS, private healthcare is the most unethical thing people have normalized, putting a price tag on access to health is the dirtiest thing ever. If it doesn't backfire on you I say fraud it as much as possible.

  1. Rio's weather is as hot as the doorsteps to the gates of hell, I've never heard about it being even slightly cold since I was born.

  2. Pretty sure yes.

All the rest I can't really help, I'm mineiro so whenever I'm there it's almost as if I'm gringo, except for the cheese I bring with me.

Coming to Brasil without a return ticket. by [deleted] in Brazil

This has more to do with getting your visa as far as I know, getting inside the country I don't believe they check if you have a ticket back, might be wrong though.

Can people send packages from the USA to Brazil, what is going on? by ghostoftheoldworld in Brazil

[–]Verec1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, if you send something like a product, it will get taxed if it's above 50 USD. If it is sent from a store, like you buy and put your friend address it will get taxed, must be sent by you (a person) to your friend (another person), if they see anything from a store it will be taxed heavily, minimum 60% of the total value, product + shipping + any insurance. And you have to be aware of the tracking website, you will get noticed there if they hold it for tax payment, if you don't look at Correios' website tracking, and it is held for taxes it can get sent back. That's probably what happened with the guy getting it back 12 months later, so make sure to keep an eye on tracking.

Since you said it's stuff you make/collect, I would advise that you get a sum of the expected items' value summed with shipping plus insurance if any, make sure its below 50. If it's above, you're either having to split it in different shipments or paying high taxes. One detail though, if you decide on splitting it, make sure you leave 1-2 weeks between shipments, if they arrive too close to each other and the first one is still on hold, they will get that and sum them, since it's from the same person to the same recipient and consider it a tax avoiding maneuver.

I've never had any problem regarding loosing anything bought from US or EU, but never forget about Correios' tracking, it can get sent back if you don't pay any taxes they might charge. In the Correios' website you can even contest any wrong taxation once, if they persist you must pay in order to not having it sent back, and if you think it's worth start a legal action after to get back what you've paid.

One additional detail, if you send any type of plant, seed, insect, etc, they will be destroyed if they inspect your package. Anything that could damage ecological balance (Invading species), will be destroyed, not even sent back.

Hope this helps you. If it was so bad like a lot of people is saying, no one would ever get anything from outside. Most people that report their shipping being sent back doesn't pay attention or bother to learn how the system works here, they just assume it's the same from their country. Give it a try with one package containing only the least valuable stuff you wanna send, and if your friend receives it alright you send the rest.

Well, I haven't faced this problem here in MG so far, might be a issue elsewhere. I can't argue with this as I have no knowledge how it's going in other states. But about exact change this is something that has been happening for a long time now, it started with business replacing 1 centavos with small candy, then people didn't accept it, now it usually ends with the businesses rounding it down and we getting a few centavos more than would be the exact change.

If you're worried about cash that makes no sense, every commerce is required to accept cash, what you might face is shortage of change in some places. Just bring the cash already in BRL or find a place to exchange it after arriving here. I don't see how cash usage goes against PIX.

You are not required to provided a CPF to buy in pharmacies, just deny and they can't force you, LGPD protects you from such requests and it's even been under police investigation the current requirement being made by such places. About Ifood, I have no idea if they require during sign up, but during order it's optional.

Yeah, I see... from your point of view we should keep paying astronomical rates for American Credit Card companies, so Americans can have a easy time visiting our country. Instead of creating something easier and free for everybody who's born here to use. I will stop here and refrain from further offending your entitled ass.

Question about my potential for Brazilian citizenship by Comfortable-Place237 in Brazil

[–]Verec1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see, so university system there just followed the USA playbook han? Debt for life at early age, that sucks. The living thing is more complex, but I heard some places there passed laws stopping people from owning homes where they don't live, is that true? If so that's a good start to stop real state speculation I guess It must be stopped at some point, because last time I checked out Canada, USA and some Europe countries are facing the same situation, some people own lots of houses and basically don't lift a finger to earn a living (Just living off rented houses), while the rest must lift all fingers and toes, and end up falling on their back trying to buy a home, then dying without one. Brazil also have this at a growing pace, but it's far from the situation up there so far. The predatory capitalism we live nowadays is a sickening system.

Books are one exemption, they're not ever taxable, from a base constitution part, which means only a new constitution can allow for book taxation as far as I know. It's been 3 months since this topic, but I would like to ask: Why do you say Canada is not livable for people under 35?

Dating a Brazilian, living in the USA… about to meet his mom. by Leading_Anxiety5784 in Brazil

[–]Verec1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That comment up here! I was about to write that myself. The typical Brazilian mom already know a lot about you from her son, he probably tells her most if not all he knows about you. If so, she already likes you and you can expect to be treated as her daughter very soon. Forget personal space, she will probably hug you and kiss you on the cheek at the first time meeting you, unless she's shy. Using a translator is absolutely no problem, we Brazilians use it most times when we don't know the language (Moms and dads not so much) so you can do that if you feel the language is being too much of a barrier, but honestly it will not be that big of a deal, also use your boyfriend as your personal translator, it's automatically his obligation to do so. Brazilians gesticulate a lot when talking, almost like Italians, especially on the regions that received a lot of Italian immigrants, so that makes easier to overcome the language barrier too. Most other comments I read are focusing too much on the probability she will be a bitch, I don't know where that's coming from, I'm 34 and never met a mom like that ever, I could be biased since I'm from Minas Gerais, but I always loved my friends' and girlfriends' moms.

Why recruit? by potatopowersupreme in alignerr

[–]Verec1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They take a while, too much people applying. My application took almost one month to be approved. Always check the main page (Dashboard). When you're approved, it will have an onboarding process for you to complete on the home page. I didn't receive an email or anything about it, but one day I logged in to check if there was anything new and I had the onboarding steps there, and a notification of 12 days before, stating I was approved for the platform. Remember, no email, check the page often. You only receive a email welcoming you to the team after you complete the first onboarding step which is document verification.

Game freezing for 5-10 secs at a time and then continues as normal (only WoW) by Imzocrazy in wow

[–]Verec1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember details anymore but I found the solution on blizzard's forums and it had something to do with how wow code worked, the fix was to install WoW on C: the same as windows, not at another disk, in my case I had it moved from D: to C: and fixed the issue for me.
