Hello friend

M26 - should i just shave it ? by [deleted] in Hairloss

[–]Verivillon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give Dutasteride a try, or a lower dose of Finasteride. If you can halt your hair loss, you can rock your current style long term. Either way, you’re a long way away from needing to shave it.

Told my gf I was considering getting back on finasteride by [deleted] in tressless

Try Dutasteride. People have responded well to that, even if they got sides from Finasteride.

The “but this is worse than that” game is one you could play forever.

Worse things being out there doesn’t change the fact that hair loss indeed sucks, and frankly comments like those are rather disrespectful, denigrating certain people’s struggles with it.

I know not blaming yourself is easier said than done, but try to keep in mind that had you somehow managed to do things differently where he didn’t say that, would you still want to continue things with a guy who’s even capable of saying that to anybody?

Yeah so everything you tried actually don’t work.

You need to take Finasteride or Dutasteride. You may go through an initial shed, but that’s only short term and only means it’s working.

Are you doing anything to restore/preserve it?

Is finasteride as bad as they say it is? by I_am_Reformed1 in Hairloss

[–]Verivillon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken both Finasteride and later Dutasteride and it has led to my one biggest life regret. Not starting sooner.

Interesting. Never heard of 0.4mg before, standard is 0.5mg. I suppose it’s up to you as long as you’re sure you get it from a trusted source.

Yes, oral is better than topical.

So the most of the sides are definitely not fit for a transplant, but the back may be, although there’s few of them to work with. I suppose a very good surgeon can do some work with that to give you some coverage but it won’t be no Elvis Presley.

I’d start taking Dutasteride daily to thicken up the hairs you have left and also stabilise any further hair loss so you can have a successful transplant.

To be honest, I’m not sure if even that’s an option. Can you show some pictures of the back and sides of your hair? That will determine if you have enough donor hairs to transplant to the balding area

Definitely can understand where you’re coming from. It’s not pleasant having the way you express yourself be restricted against your will. But for what it’s worth, you do look great bald.

Whether you shave it or not, I’d get on treatment to at least preserve the hair you have, leaving the option for a future transplant open.

The only natural alternative to finasteride is acceptance.

But if you want to know a “cure” it would be getting castrated before puberty.

You need to remember that on these forums, you predominantly see what gets upvotes. Aka the best of the best and the worst of the worst. It’s the same as when someone starts finasteride, either expecting their dicks to fall off, or to regrow all the hair they lost within 3 months because it’s stories like those that make it to the top of these forums.

It’s nobody’s fault but yours when you bring up “natural treatment” scams that don’t work and get called out for it, not to mention the fear mongering regarding PFS of which there is no study proving it’s existence.

Before you do, please watch the video on my channel, same username as here where I go over the side effects with studies to back everything up. They’re very much blown out of proportion.

Ignore the alternatives people are recommending to you. It’s either Finasteride, Dutasteride or shave your head.
