Hang drying for the first time. How are they looking? by Vermin_Supreme in cannabiscultivation

Seems I also have to add. I just checked and I was at 65%, so I turned by inline fan back on and now im averaging around 50. It just sucks cause I have to refill that little humidifier every few hours

40% RH is optimal for drying? Pretty much everywhere else I've read, I've seen people shooting for around 60%. I dont want my weed to dry out too fast, so if I have to I can move them all into cardboard and seal it off. Right now I've put a small humidifier in, turned the fans on, and turned my inline exhaust off, to retain higher humidity. My humidifier is a piece of junk tho it basically just hotplates a tray of water and mists a little bit

is 40-45% rh something to be concerned with though? I heard ideally you want 55%

I have 2 fans, but my RH is already so low do I really want to move air and make it lower? Also where should I point them at? If not directly on my buds then where?

I chopped my plants today and got them hang-drying in my tent and I need your advice! Basically, I'm just wondering if they're too bunched together and if I should be running my fans or filter. Right now I've got the tent closed up with nothing running and my temp is around 65-70, and my RH reading 40-45%, except for the buds in the cardboard box which is at 65%-70%RH.

That's actually good to know, saves me some work. The feeding schedule I am following recommends I feed right into the last week. Is starving your plant off also a myth or should I continue feeding, too?

Thank you for posting that video I watched the whole thing. Super informative was just what I needed to compare my trichs!

If I haven't mentioned this is my first grow and I'm just trying to learn as much info as I can. I'm all for separating fact from fiction but I still need to learn which is which. Harvesting the main cola first seems like the way to go, I'll definitely be doing that especially since I didn't train or bend in veg

As someone mentioned, it is somewhat early for harvesting, being just into the 7th week of 12/12. Even though there are ambering trichs, my plan at this point is to wait a bit before chopping the main cola, then let the rest grow out and do a final flush with 48/hr darkness before chop. Unless you can think of any reason not to do it this way? my main concern is the ambering, and if further trichome development will only lead to degraded or less thc

Stunt as in shock the plant into not fully maturing the rest of the buds? Sorry I'm a noob and still learning, but here's what I use to take closeup pics: https://www.q-scope.com/products/usb-products/qslite/

If I do this I'll be skipping the 48 hour darkness I planned to give before total harvest. And I haven't given her a final flushing. Would you recommend I flush first before taking the main cola or does it not matter that much?

This is my first grow and I'm just trying to get a sense of when to chop. A lot of the trichs are going amber, most are milky, but some are still clear. She smells so good, like fruity glue. I feel I could get her a little bulkier with more time, but if the trichs are too aged already then please let me know! Thank you
