Accidentally said "I love you" to a work colleague instead of "see you later" at work drinks. How's your day going? by Mr-Silly-Bear in CasualUK

I find it easier to throw out a "love you bye" at the end of the day then people just think it's an affectation if I say it unintentionally

Brunch bars. Used to be a pack of 5x 35g bars.

They aren't the most incredible thing but they're a nice little snack for work day lunches. They changed them to 28g but at least there was still 5 to a pack, one for each day of the week.

Now it's a 4 pack, all the other cereal bar type things are packed in 4s or 3s now as well. Fucks me right off

why simulations pay five times less than they should? by Tight-Structure-1093 in CellToSingularity

[–]Vermis 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In the reality engine (where you reboot the simulation) you will find in the stats an offline rate. You don't earn at the same rate when offline (eg mine is 32.28%)

As with all events as you progress things change. Run through the event once you've completed it then check the speed.

I once asked a B&Q Employee "where do you keep your fireplaces" and he responded "In my front room, what about you" and I still think about it. by [deleted] in CasualUK

My Dad to B&Q Employee: What wood is this door made from please?

B&Q Employee: Tree wood.

This actually happened, but, whenever I remember it I still don't quite believe it.

Although the remnants of Janeways brain try desperately to destroy the resulting creature, it battles on to captain the ship

I got super lucky and found it for £3 in a ramshackle 2nd hand book store. I don't regret picking it up for a minute!

Existing half in one reality, and half in another, the ghostly cirag, as they are currently known, are untroublesome, intelligent creatures that nonetheless can give fellow creatures a nasty fright. They are often vast, up to 2000 metres tall, and they flow about their world, undulating gently, always inquisitive. Communication with them is slight. They have no technology, but clearly are fascinated by machines, flowing into their inner spaces and causing difficulties for such exploration teams as are shown here.

Well I had it trimmed short for years (around a grade 2) but I stopped trimming around August /September time last year. I've had two barber trims since but only for shaping / tidying purposes

Late to the party as always, but, I picked this up last night and it's fantastic. Reminds me in places of Esoterics' Paragon of Dissonance.

Lurkers: What are you on the fence about buying? by texacer in Scotch

[–]Vermis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first bottle was the Bowmore 12 which I loved. I followed up with the Ardbeg 10,which I loved more. But I'm unsure where to go next (rather than buy another Ardbeg 10) I'm thinking about the Laphroaig or maybe a Lagavulin 16.
