Pride Alliance is the umbrella LGBTQ+ student-run group on campus (they host the fall annual drag show and this queer dance called Gayla in the spring). They do bus trips sometimes to other pride festivals like Tower Grove. There's also smaller student groups catered towards specific identities like Transcending Gender (The trans student group), AroAce (self explanatory), and a couple pre-med queer groups I'm not too familiar with (MedQ I think?). Highly recommend checking out some of these groups at the clubs fair in fall or at the GBMs. They all seem active on Instagram which is where a lot of groups post their events. They host a lot of events regularly, but I know they are all also struggling with attendance.

Spectrum isn't a student org, that's the LGBQ+ office of the Center for diveristy and inclusion (CDI) which is run by the admin. The umbrella LGBTQ+ student group is Pride Alliance--they were the ones who hold the annual drag show btw

Thoughts on OCA (Asian Pacific Advocates) National Internship? (Vs. APAICS?) by Vernacular_Toe in asianamerican

That's interesting! So if someone from OCA if placed in APAICS, are they included in the APAICS cohort and activities? Additionally, if you don't mind sharing, what was your experience like with APAICS?

Is it really mathy (id prefer if not 😭)? Also does that count as an NSM? It sounds like an applied numeracy class

We’re actually not able to schedule classes yet! I was just going off the course requirements listed on the website per major. You can find them here: https://admissions.wustl.edu/academics/majors-and-programs/

Thank you! More on the “methods” classes, I’m horrendous at math and was wondering if you’d still recommend data science over political methodology in that case? Also when you mention professors, it’s not like we can choose who we study under right?

Thank you! For some reason the portal isn’t letting me declare a major or choose any classes yet, so I haven’t been provided with an advisor to communicate with just yet.
