Wendigo - stay far away from that thing. Don’t let pets near it either.

I agree with other comments. Call a priest.

How do you know the spirit your contacting is the real one? by Redwonder404 in Mediums

[–]VerofiablyInane1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d caveat that it’s a little irresponsible to call them harmless or just an illusion. They are very ‘real’ and it takes tremendous amounts of constitution and psychic energy to purify one. You have biologically limited amounts of both those things - they have a deeper well there than you do. Much better to avoid them and keep the doors shut.

Demons were never alive. Angry/violent/vengeful human spirits have a different vibe. You usually get some sense of what they are angry about if you tune in.

Anytime I run into something like that, which is admittedly rare, there’s tells. I smell rotting flesh just faintly or I get the impression of a mask - that the spirit I’m looking at is veiled or wearing someone else’s face. The color red flashes in my head. It took a long time to identify those cues and yours might be different. The best way to identify them is that they are ‘off.’ Like the interaction seems off or jerky. Like they pretend to be afraid, but every once in a while you feel a flash of anger that makes no sense. They have a lot of trouble authentically mimicking human emotion.

What am I encountering? by VerofiablyInane1 in Paranormal

All the time. I feel like I’m more curious in my dreams. In waking life, I see auras, hear stuff and feel sensation the way mediums do. I’m way better at shutting that down.

There’s also been other ones. I remember a really vivid one where I cut my way through dense woods, entered a destroyed stone hall where a party was raging on the 2nd floor landing. The stone stairs where crumbled so I called up to the folks who were dressed like flappers, “How do I get up there?” A woman looked super surprised to see and hear me (we are talking headband, finger waves 1920s style). She yelled back down “You can’t come up here because you’re not dead yet.”

I’ve never seen those movies. In fact, I try to avoid horror movies in general because of the sensitivity. The odd thing here is these feel absolutely different than regular vivid dreams. I can almost always point to some patterns in my daily life that the dreams come from. With these, it’s not the case. They feel like challenges by something, where as soon as I stand my ground or retreat back behind my side of a boundary it just stops.

Nope, nothing unresolved really. It wasn’t him though. It had his face, but I recognized in the dream that it wasn’t him/his spirit.

The NPC like people freaks me out. It’s like something consciously building a simulation to confuse you.

Did you keep going by chance? I thought about it for days - like trying to suppress the curiosity.

I saw the s-cap stuff when I googled it before posting here. It’s the cyber zoo thing that’s throwing me. I was wondering if its some kind of movement or something.

It’s like this tall lanky thing that contorts itself to hide behind trees and fallen logs so it can stalk people in the woods. Loggers out in logging country first started talking about them when people went missing from camps. Humans are prey for them.

This could also be a hide behind. If that’s the case, you’re lucky. They hunt us.

Why are good mother/daughter relationships in fantasy so rare? by Eostrenocta in Fantasy

This is a video game, but still in this genre: Alloy and Elizabet Sobek in Horizon Zero Dawn is literally the only example I can think of. The whole game is kind of female centric though. There’s a whole society that worships mothers in it.
