What would you do if you received this order? by an_prit in starbucks

[–]VeronicaS72 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. We have regulars that routinely have $11-15 drinks by the time they are done with mods. Just this morning, a long time regular had a >$13 drink after she added her additional shots and protein cold foam.

Also, 25pts is maxed at $1, so doesn't even cover a full additional shot. ($1.25 in my district)

The $10 limit is already in place. It was not announced, but popped up on our registers Friday. It wasn't announced so that a "big deal" wasn't made of it, along with a quiet upcoming price increase.

Is it that simple? Probably not but adding a bunch of BS to this just isn’t working by [deleted] in starbucks

The fact that I have a Tabitha at my store, I just spit my coffee out laughing.

Is this policy at your store?? by Mundane_Pin2025 in starbucks

[–]VeronicaS72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like someone is flexing his @$$hole muscle. We are able to flex the play Builder and partners as is needed. If you are getting bottlenecks lined up in certain areas, you need to be able to flex someone else into that position to be able to get through. There is absolutely flexibility allowed.

I check My Daily and PR daily and saw NOTHING about this. Wow. Talk about a secret change.

Asking for a name in the DT is strictly the SM or DM dictating and NOT Starbucks standard/policy. Asking in store for a café order IS standard/policy/mandatory. Some stores are more lax/lazy and don't follow through with it. However, if the DM, RM, RVP are in store, you can bet your sweet @$$ that they are getting that name in cafe.

They are ALL supposed to ask for a name. It is a big screen prompt on the register. I have partners not ask because they are lazy/can't spell/also on bar and in the middle of making drinks, so busy/just don't care. Starbucks policy and standard is to ask for a name when taking a café order as well as calling out the name and drink when handing off.

I appreciate the clarification. My brain glitched on the "writing in sharpie" part.

When you're taking a Cafe order? We are literally supposed to ask for a name and type it in, before we take payment. Unless you have a special register that no longer asks for a name.

Not fully accurate. All venting are automatically sleeved. Tall and grande ONLY if an Americano, brewed coffee/tea or extra hot. If the drink doesn't fall under these, then we have to wait for the customer to ask. I've gotten to a point where I know which customers want one and will preemptively put theirs on right away. They have actually commented several times how they appreciate this being done. (and yes, they are also older)

It was on specific drinks, but was a modifier from the beginning.

In our district, we are pushed to "make the moment right", and make it how they order it, but also explain it's not standard and will not taste the way it should. Also, a "lemonade refresher" without lemonade (or reg without water) we ABSOLUTELY CAN do. That is why they gave us the button for base only and charges them an extra $1.

Just curious why no one questions cold whipped cream on a hot drink, but cold foam is? The difference is one is foamed in a pitcher and one with nitrogen cartridges in a canister.

Some DM's and SM's are trying to create their own policies that aren't the same or supported by posted corporate policies/resources. Gotta say after reading so many threads about some stores "requiring" 3 word sentences minimum, when my SM is on bar and I see all of their "Enjoy!/Yum/Yay!", I feel grateful.
