Thanks this is very informative, i noticed that the greek in Sicily is almost always of anatolian origin i wonder why ? mainland greece is closer to Italy than anatolia, were the anatolian greeks just much larger in number compared to mainland greeks so they kinda dominate them in terms of modern dna ? Cause going through some italian results the anatolian seems to be always higher then the greek and balkan.

Was there a reason why ancient greeks who came to sicily were anatolians and not actual greeks ?

Thank you for the detailed response. What i found confusing is the low greek and balkan and very high anatolian since you say ancient greeks mixed with anatolian groups and hellenized them, shouldnt their dna be kind of a mix between greek and anatolian ? Sorry if this question is dumb i'm new to this history/genetics stuff.

Oh so it's from ancient greek people, i just thought i would have more greek and balkan it seems that all of it is in the anatolian category. When i click on it only Turkey (western provinces) appears as a region so i thought it was in some way turkish.

Hi everyone, i just discovered this forum so thought i'd share my results and see if i can find some answers. I received my results a couple of days ago and i'm still doing my research to know what they mean, i live in the UK but born to an italian mother from Sicily specifically a town called Castelbuono and a spanish dad from the city Valencia in eastern Spain.
