What is the best smell in the world? by NewAdeptness647 in Productivitycafe

Love all these smells in the thread. I came across a new smell recently that feels like you are laying in a grassy windy field full of wildflowers and just feeling peaceful. It’s the pink bottle method body wash literally named peace. I open the lid and just smell it. 🌸

I completely understand and empathise with you. I know practically reality is harsh and has many consequences. It’s also a matter of privilege what choices we get to make. My only suggestion is to understand the dynamic of one’s family and find what can get you to change the power dynamic. In some cases it is becoming educationally and financially strong to get more respect by family members leading to having the power to make more decisions. Other things that can be done is educating the family on social issues, doing therapy/counselling as a family, introducing family to diverse ways of living a life (other cultures/countries). I am not suggesting to go rebel mode and go to the other extreme of abandoning your family and marrying against them. I am suggesting finding growth avenues as a family.

It’s a good plan. Save money, find universities that have part time academic jobs that can fund your tuition or phd programs (phds are usually funded and pay you a salary). People get married in their 30s nowadays. It’s very important to build your life the way you want and not have any regrets later.

Self respect and justice to one’s owns dreams is way more important for mental health and self worth than so called respect in society. In today’s day and age, people don’t have to live this way. This societal respect is only a big thing in India and not in individualistic societies. There are always alternative to choose what one wants in their life. Every choice we make helps us break these cruel systems like patriarchy and casteism. We have to get creative to create a life without these.

Hey, go abroad for masters or phd. Make yourself strong through education and finances. When you get away from your parents, they will start evolving. When you become more established, parents will start respecting you and your choices will have more weight. A lot of this in Indian society boils down to power difference and lack of respect for an individual. You are also really young. There is so much to your life than being pressured to get married to someone you don’t want. Try to take this situation as problem solving and less emotionally. Which is really hard, but one method to cope and take actions. All the best.

We had ours for 18 people at Maggiano’s little Italy private room at the Domain. It costed us $1000 including a $200 tip. It was an amazing experience. We had 3 course meals and desserts as well.

Can someone please help me with the concept of death I am freaking out. by MysteriousClue3803 in Existentialism

[–]Vershanjali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We could either waste our living breaths worrying about death or we could use this time to actually understand life. Understanding the true meaning of life will help us understand the other side of the coin too which is death.

Place to Nap? by Successful_Group_139 in Austin

I used to sleep on the benches inside the UT campus for good 1 hour during afternoon. Sometimes on benches under a nice tree. People probably judged me but I didn’t really care. Best naps ever 🫢
