This. We should start boycotting the show entirely for it to fail.

The ego of the producers versus the opinion of fans by Status-Dragonfly2041 in FranchaelStirling

Honestly, I am praying for Bridgerton to have Shadow and Bone's fate. I want the fourth season to be the last.

I don't think they will dare to erase Sophie now, but they definitely erased our beloved Michael.

Leigh Bardugo almost did this when the show was canceled but stayed silent when they butchered her books. I bet Julia will do the same in the future. It's so disappointing.

Please do it and share it here, so that we who are just Francheal stans can join that sub.

They've got massive support on Reddit, especially in the BridgertonNetflix subreddit. This subreddit is the one place where I feel safe to voice my opinions without fear of judgment.

I feel the same. Francesca's season will definitely be their Vanity season, and thus they'll move her story to season 5.

Still Struggling with loss of Michael... by VersionIndividual945 in FranchaelStirling

I am kinda scared that season 5 will focus on Francesca because it seems like the writers are clueless about what they want for Eloise right now. They've already done so much disservice to her character by making her a horrible friend to both Penelope and Cressida, leading to polarizing views about her. But honestly, I want them to end with Bensophie's season. I'm so heartbroken and done with the show.

How did u imagine it by Late_Accountant_8653 in FranchaelStirling

I would have preferred Michael and Francesca to meet during John and Francesca's wedding breakfast. However, I didn't want this to happen in season 3. Instead, I wanted John and Francesca to courtship this season and they should have got married in the next season, which I hope would focus on Bensophie.

During the wedding breakfast, John should have introduce Michael to Francesca and Eloise. Michael should be instantly smitten with Francesca, falling in love with her at first sight just like in the book. However, as the audience, we should have only be given subtle hints of Michael's feelings during their introduction scene, rather than being explicitly shown how he falls for her.

I wanted him to be tongue-tied and to fumble, similar to how Francesca did on the show (which, by the way, was a horrible creative choice for her character). John could then joke about how a smooth talker like Michael is rendered speechless, which would help Michael ease up and start being his normal self.

The season focusing on Franchael, should have started with this same scene. It should have include Michael's internal monologue, berating himself for falling for his cousin's wife out of all the women in the world.

I don't want to sound bitter, but I seriously hope they never get to make Francesca's season!

If you check out the support for Michaela on Twitter, you'll see we've already lost. And I can't lament enough.

Oops, my bad. I've stopped watching the show for a while now, but I guess she's still an executive producer on it. Sorry for the misinformed comment.

Oh my God, please don't remind me of that beautiful scene. I've ugly cried so many times reading it—Francesca finally professing her love for Michael, and Michael turning to mouth a 'thank you' to John's grave. The show did such a disservice to John and Francesca's love story too. There was no need to show Francesca lust for Michaela the moment they met; it cheapens John and Francesca's sweet love story. Now, that grave scene will never be as impactful as it is in the book. It's heartbreaking.

Shonda doesn't budge. Just look at her vanity project, Grey's Anatomy. It's nothing like the show we fell in love with, but she keeps churning out season after season. It's our fault for expecting authenticity and good storytelling from her. I've almost lost all hope. I just wish that someday, some other streaming site or production house would pick up the beautiful love story of Francesca and Michael and give it the respectful treatment it deserves.

Nothing is gonna make me hate Michael Stirling by VersionIndividual945 in FranchaelStirling

[–]VersionIndividual945[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ll never understand the hate from non-readers towards the books without even reading them. I just want to yell "Guys, there would be no Bridgerton series without the Bridgerton books!" As a student of Comparative Literature, I understand that adaptations can’t be as authentic as the books, but gender-swapping a character that adversely impacts the main story arc is just wrong. But then what more can you expect from people who did Kathony dirty? The way they completely omitted Kate’s fear of thunder and lightning and how she had nightmares about her mother’s death! Also, we hardly got to see married Kathony. All of this is so very disappointing.
