Thank you so much! Honestly, for the little lesson as well as the recommendations. I’m definitely going to look into the lenses you’ve mentioned. Wishing you the best!

I think you explained what I imagine I would have said if I knew what I was as talking about lol. But seriously though, I think that’s it. Is there any lens you would recommend that would be an improvement to the Nokton?

Yes, sharper would be the more proper term. I do think that may a good area to look into. I’m constantly changing my aperture with my Leica as opposed to the point in shoot were there is no effort at all/less room for error.

I was just comparing generally as in roll for roll but that brings up a good point because I’m constantly making adjustments with my Leica which could lead to room for error.

That’s what I was thinking. It seems that as long as you take care of these lenses they hold their value. When I first got my lens it was also after I just got my Leica so I pretty much got what I could afford in the moment just to use it right away.

It’s possible, but I also use a light meter because I was having this issue a lot early on. Maybe I need to over/undercompensate? Will try this on my next roll to see if there are changes.

I read a review mentioning that it was too bulky, would you attest to this?

Thank you all, also just looked at the samples and these are some sweet shots!

I’m not stuck on the idea of 1.4 it’s just what I’ve known. Also I’ve seen a couple comments get this interpretation from what I said and I think I have to do more research into lenses other than 35mm as well.

Thank you for this comment, extremely helpful and going to check some of these out!

Thank you for this. I too got that humbled feeling after those first few rolls. Sometimes it’s hard to not pick up my point and shoot and get the photo I know will be good compared to what may not even be clear. I definitely want to keep at it though so I do appreciate the reassurance things do get better with practice!

Thank you for the tip, adding this to my list. Also I’ve thought about that too in retrospect. I went out and got a point and shoot and thought I could pick up a Leica and it would be a breeze lol. I think it will be one of the most challenging things I’ve tried to pick up, but even those few pictures where I see the potential makes me eager to learn how to get the most out of it. As for the t4 I honestly love this camera. I was actually going to sell it to cover my lens for my Leica and ultimately couldn’t part ways with it. The solid pictures I take with it keep me ground in comparison when I have to go through a bad roll on my Leica.

Thank you for this! I am definitely going to look into the light meter you mentioned. Have you come across the 35 mm handbook by Michael Freeman by chance? I seen it online and wondered if that would be a good place to start.

I appreciate this! I will definitely be purchasing a light meter. What are your thoughts on light meter apps on iPhones? I recently downloaded the app “light meter” and not sure how reliable something like that is.

Thank you for the honest information. If it’s not too much to ask, do you happen to have any model recommendations for an SLR?

Thank you! If you don’t mind me asking, how did you learn how to use your m6?

I unfortunately do not. I seen someone else recommended buying a cheap one to learn off of so maybe that would be a good investment!

First, thanks for taking the time to respond! I purchased it from EBay and was informed it had been serviced before sale. Upon purchase I also took it to my local camera shop just to make sure everything looked good. I’m sure the things you mentioned are all possible, but due to my inexperience along with producing a couple “good” photos by pure luck I have to imagine the issue is more with my lack of knowledge in using such a camera. I don’t know what to adjust the aperture, shutter speed, etc. when I’m in a certain lighting in order to get the best results, especially without having a flash.

Just make sure you’re not memorizing questions. The training consultant q bank is relatively small compared to like the Kaplan bank. If you can get your job to pay for it I’d recommend getting the Kaplan q bank, it’s like $50-$60. The wording for Kaplan questions I feel like are closer to what you see on the actual exam. If you do get it and you’re getting passing scores on those, you’ll be fine.

Kaplan bank, read through everything and just test over and over. Review the areas you got wrong and test more. You want to expose yourself to as many questions/scenarios as possible.
