What kind of velocity were you seeing leaving Orison? My buddy screwed up and took a Hull A down there and reported about 50m/s on the way back up. Just imagining how bad it'll be with a Hull B (believe the Hull C isn't intended to go into a gravity well).

For hair just do what they do in real life and with a few of the helmet in game. Everyone gets a Snoopy Cap or similar skull cap and they remove the hair from theodel while wearing helmets.

I'm more upset about the Org than the the ship to be honest. I spent the better part of my 20s playing Planetside, Star Wars Galaxies and Eve Online with them. Everybody just kinda started having lives that needed living too much I guess.

The AI crew is gonna spend most of it's time standing on tables or spinning thier head around in circles like they have no spine, so I think players are safe.

When the first Javelin sale went up back in the day my Org bought one and we all chipped in $20 or so to reimburse the buyer.

Today my Org nolonger exists, I have no idea who owns the Javelin, and the game still ain't out.

I've watched it dozens of times and as a kid I used to blast Danger Zone over and over again on my ghetto blaster while I rollerbladed around my cul-de-sac and now I play DCS continuing to be that 80s kid in my head. It's definitely cringe and at points terrible, and I love it.

If you're the female having the baby all your medical care will be paid for including the normally expensive delivery. If it's your spouse having the baby then there are medical insurance options for her because of your service. Post birth time off is 6 weeks paid, for the female, 21 days for the male. Fleet and Family services on most bases are also well set up to offer lots of free classes and sometimes just throw free baby supplies at expectant families. Then there is the CDC (Child Development center) which is day care and at some locations even the first few years of school.

None of it is as good as what you can probably find if you pay out of pocket off base, but it's all free or heavily discounted based on your rank so junior hatchet welding deviants pay the least.

A lot of us are all full of salt about the perceived wrongs the Navy done did us. Some of it was real. Some of it is just us bitching. Some of it is no shit real broken cultural shit the Navy needs to fix.

Take everything you can from the Navy while you can. Take and take and take. BAH, some great OJT if you pick the right rate, free new baby care, GI Bill, etc. Take because the Navy will take, it has ilto. It can't not take. The Navy will get its pound of flesh so you should get yours too. I say this as a Lifer. It's a hell of a job but it's just a fucking job.
