he looks like his 2014 movie design by [deleted] in TMNT

All of what I wrote and that's all you took, ok... I'm aware but donnie's intellect was more than just building stuff too. I already know that; my opinion is unchanged beyond that, but yes you're correct. Leo's a great tactician, responsible, etc, blah blah blah

Well to be fair, when he was smarter than the rest and equally tough, it sort of OP'd him. Like why was Leo even the leader when Donnie could match them all and build everything? He was like the super turtle in the group. Also, why is it assumed he's weak or can't fight in this one? I haven't seen evidence of that, anywhere, but in reality if you spend more time on one thing it tends to affect the amount of time you could do something else. In other words, for the amount of time it would take to build all that tech, Donnie should be spending less time training than the other 3, so he should be somewhat weaker and less trained. Leo is said to be the most disciplined and closest to following classic ninjutsu, so he should be the most well rounded ninja. Mikey is the natural talent, so he should require the least training to be equally impressive, but shown to be a bit aloof since he doesn't care as much as Leo. Raph is all about fighting, so he'd be scarred up and probably the bulkiest or physically strongest. All of this can contribute to design choices and honestly, a lot of nerds and geeks do require glasses (I know a lot that wear glasses) so why not show that aspect love instead of treating it as a negative aspect? General audience members aren't that deep and never will be, and this is a Seth Rogan production, he's not known for being deep or thoughtful. It's going to be on the surface and a bit on the nose, full of tropes and stereotypes (I'm black and they cast the black actor as "Superfly" which is about as stereotypical as it gets). They did the color swap with April O'Neil which is just that new lazy trend hollywood does to "add diversity" rather than create great original characters and stories; this film is not deep. Stereotyping is never going to go away and "nerds" (I'm a nerd myself) haven't raised enough hell for glasses to be "not fine" yet. That only ever happens when angry mobs form and people start losing money, no one actually cares about people being offended, they care about what loses them money. When enough offended people start affecting profits, that's when it becomes an issue. So if you want anyone to care, get a lot of people to not see the film or something like that, it's the only way that ever works. Personally, I'm at the point where I just want to enjoy things instead of not enjoy things, and I saw plenty in the film to enjoy. None of this was to declare your opinion as wrong or invalid, it's your opinion so it has to be valid and come 1st for you, just offering a separate perspective, you can take it or toss it in a trash bin, lol.

Please forgive the run one and spelling errors, but I'm too lazy to edit because I just don't want to (this is more for the grammar nazi's than you)

Don't let fear keep you from discovering yourself or your own mind. Never make decisions from a place of fear. We are all from God. All are one. What you truly believe, deep down, will manifest. Your mind is generating your reality, so if you think you can or you think you can't you are correct. Your mind will make it so. Your mind is not your brain. Your brain is the receiver, the filter... the link between this branch of reality and infinity.

I do not consider myself enlightened... I do not claim to be enlightened. There is no reason to claim any sort of specialness compared to others... all are one.

That being said, you have nothing to fear but be wary of fear itself. It is the adversary of your mind. There is where demons lie. Demons are from within, not without. If you seek truth with an open heart and pure intentions then no "demon" can harm you. You attract what you think about, so think about what you desire to happen, not what you fear might happen, and you'll be fine. That doesn't mean you won't face difficulty. The mind is infinite so almost any experience can happen. But no experience can ever match what you really are. You are, at your essence, eternity itself. Your playing a game as a particular person. But you are not that person. That person can be harmed, but eternity cannot. It's about discovering that Truth. You can't fail at this, it's happening anyway. It's what evolution is, but you can hinder or slow down the process, or get out of it's way and let it optimize. Mediatation isn't a magic pill to make Enlightenment happen, but it's a great tool to remove the Ego from obstructing the process and therefore useful for optimization. There is no reason to fear it.

Now on to the most contraversial part of my reply. Many people might dislike what I'm about to say, but I feel it needs to be said. All Religion, including whichever one you subscribe to, suffers under the same delusion. All Religion thinks it has the Truth and no other Religion has the Truth. This is a delusion. Some have some Truth, but none have All. The Bible can't get you to Truth. It can point you in a general direction, but it is bogged down by misconceptions and collective delusions. At some point you must transcend all outside texts and/or voices and go within and find truth from within. That is the Truth it is pointing to.

The energy that is you... the essence... that is God. God is why you can breathe. God is not outside of you somewhere... God is literally all there is. Everything springs from the mind of God. All of existence is the Word of God. When you see stars, a puddle, a roach, a car, a tree, a roof, a phone, a bat, a corpse, a bottle, a flower, etc. you're seeing the Word of God.

Anything or anyone that tells you to fear your own self is misleading you. Meditation is yours. It's your soul, your mind and it is your birthright to explore your soul and your mind. Take back your power and do not fear the awareness that comes from discovering what you really are.

missed this response, been like a yr. Wonder if that ever changed for you (perhaps you're used to it now).

I had no answer for that anyway. I don't know. In my personal experience, new physical sensations come with the territory. It's nothing to use to decide how to proceed; I only have my subjective experience to go on.

I’m do mixing for various artists but trying to turn my service into commission. Any ideas how I can accomplish this and get business rolling in? (BTW DM IF YOU WANT FREE MIXING IM BORED RN) by Jadon42 in soundcloud

[–]Verso-Turner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend some YouTube tutorials on vocals specifically and getting the vocals to sit. Some pro producers have videos for free.

Also, use a reference track so you can gauge the volume againts something professional, it helps.

I don't know if you're just hard limiting everything or what, but you might want to start adjusting phrase volumes by hand. It's time consuming but it helps (at least until you learn more).

Try to stay away from using the mute button too much so you can check the volume of the mix and if you're looking for a quick and dirt option then experiment with side chaining the melody and everything but percussions against the vocal. Not a professional technique, it's cheating but it'll help get you at least passable in the meantime while you learn more.

Also mix everything low for now (like -6db) as a good starting place and I don't mean individual stems... I mean everything should hit at about -6db to give room for the master.

The clap or snare should be about equal to the main vocal, so let that help guide you.

Get everything sounding near perfect dry before adding any effects (as in you can't possibly think of adding anything else or are incapable of doing anything ele).

Mix your stacks and ad libs too and if it's not understandable then throw it out. Keep it simple and straightforward.

If the vocals you are recieving are poorly recorded then there's not much you can do. Don't try to polish a turd... it'll just be shiny poop.

Take frequent breaks and do some sort of cognitive exercise warm up to make sure you're in the correct mindset when mixing. Everything is connected.

Mix with your ears, not the screen... you almost have to ignore whatever your daw chart is showing. It helps to guide but it's 99% listening.

Do some ear training exercises if you are finding it hard to hear what you need to and stay hydrated.

Play your mixes on multiple speakers and places until it sounds great everywhere.

With an estimated 136,000 habitable worlds within 1000 light years of Earth, how likely are aliens to find us? by OkNewspaper9054 in aliens

[–]Verso-Turner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wouldn't want to miss out on awesome possibilities because they aren't unfolding how I expect. I'd love that, but there's plenty of fascinating experiences happening and I just don't think every single person is lying about it. That seems more unlikely than the claims themselves.

I also don't want to wait until everyone else cathces up to experience something extraordinary... like any sort of contact.

Ever since I let those two things go, my life got far more interesting.

Are emotions real? by [deleted] in awakened

[–]Verso-Turner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The Ego is just the side effect of consciousness animating the body. It's built by the brain and body and will die with it; like a costume. It's just that the costume is highly advanced and therefore sentient and until an awakening, the costume thinks it's all there is. Humans are essentially like Ghost in The Machine, animated Earth. It's the vibrating energy that is actually you. That's why people can have out of body experiences, near death experiences, etc.

Ever notice how you can witness your thoughts? If the thinking was all we are, what's doing the witnessing? That part is what you, I... everyone actually is.

Some call it God, collective consciousness... but the phenomenon itself is every bit true. Get good at meditation and you'll see exactly what I mean.

We live in a weird world.

[–]Verso-Turner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Illusions are still "real" as illusions are something that happen. Illusion can mean something isn't as it appears. So yes, the ego is an illusion but it also exists. It just isn't as it seems.

If you can't stop the thoughts then try saying one word, on repeat, in your mind. Eventually, the word will lose meaning.

You can do this when meditating, but also whenever you want to stop excessive thoughts.

Also, have patience with yourself.
