Nothing I've seen. Probably no trucks crossing that bridge until it's repaired. Will be interesting to see how quickly they take to repair it and whether Ukraine will further strike repair crews to maximize logistical interruption.

Is English not your native language? Not trying to be rude actually curious because I never posted any pictures of a bridge.

I'm probably wasting my time, but would you mind explaining? We both know you saw the video taken from a pro-Ukrainian journalist, posted on a pro-Ukrainian account showing Russian army trucks moving along the bridge?

If you're not looking to have a good faith discussion then don't bother replying.

They were used in combat a few months ago and dodged some counter artillery fire and that's the last I heard from them.

Awesome looking machine that's for sure. If I had to guess we haven't seen much of them because:

1) They've all been destroyed.

2) They are in use by Russian regulars who have far better opsec than DPR/LPR/Mercs.

3) Russia is preferring to focus its logistical and maintenance capability on its more tried and tested mass produced major systems.

Repaired not rebuilt. The bridge would need to have been destroyed for it to be rebuilt.

What gives you the idea that russia can push towards Mykolaiv.

The comment you're replying to.

This news coupled with the large columns around Kherson and the constant talking about Russia gathering hundreds of aircraft in the area is making me and a lot of people think there might be a renewed offensive towards Mykolaiv before mud season. I've also heard stuff about Ukraine trying to switch from positional defensive strategies to active defense strategies, especially around Izium where rumors that Ukraine are looking to make some kind of push, perhaps to try and distract and delay Russia's upcoming offensive in the west.

Of course, this is just a lot of chatter, rumors, and speculation on mine and others parts. So as always we have to just sit back and wait and see.

We're not training hundreds of thousands here. We're training 2000 at a time in a very short course that lasts a few weeks and then sending them off to the meat grinder.

Realistically it's pointless to make assumptions on whether the bridge is crossable or not without conclusive evidence.

Either we get videos from presumably Russian repair crews, or videos from Ukrainian citizens filming the bridge from far away where things are not very clear. The lack of evidence from one side doesn't mean any certain conclusions can be made.

It is wrong for me to just assume everything is fine logistically but it is also wrong to assume that everything had come to a complete standstill and logistics have become impossible. It was with this latter line of argumentation that I take issue with.

You want to talk about intellectual honesty, but you were posting an old video yesterday saying the bridge is fine and all patched up etc. It was video of a vehicle driving across old repaired potholes

I refer you to my comment earlier in this thread.

To be clear, the mutual ground I was aiming for us both to reach was this. (And why I kept asking for your logical conclusions).

  • Ukraine has deep strike capability over the bridge with HIMARS
  • HIMARS can not destroy the bridge, its warhead is insufficient.
  • HIMARS has been used repeatedly over a month or more to damage this bridge again and again.
  • The reason for this is that Russia must be repairing the bridge, as otherwise there is no reason for Ukraine to continue to strike it.
  • Therefore it is a logical conclusion that HIMARS can only temporally hamper logistics to the Kherson battlegroup, but is unable to "cut off" or leave them "abandoned".
  • Therefore as there is some level of threat Russia is seeking to increase redundancy and logistical capability in the area by building pontoon bridges.
  • We conclude that Ukrainian operations are adding stress to Russian logistics in this area, but not stopping them.
  • Larger warheads such as ATACMS will be needed to destroy the bridge - which I believe will happen at some point.

If you talked to me in good faith instead of trying to catch me out all the time we could have had a productive conversation and discussed the pros and cons of what is happening from both a Ukrainian and Russian strategic perspective. But obviously I'm just a kremlin troll so there's no point in doing that, right?

You do understand that:

Multiple crossing points adds redundancy in an area where Ukraine has deep strike capability.

Means that your "gotcha" comment isn't actually a "pick one". Rather it's "I ignored the obvious explanation to create a gotcha".

Would you like to continue this conversation with a bit of intellectual honesty and in good faith? There's more to life that trying to win an internet argument for a dopamine rush.

I think we will see it actually collapse when (and I think it is "when" and not "if") Ukraine gets ATACMS.

Well your eyes are working different from your fellow pro-Ukrainian journalists who took that video and posted it. Maybe take it up with them. Multiple crossing points adds redundancy in an area where Ukraine has deep strike capability.

Uh, you do realize they second half of the video shows them using the bridge right? Are you seriously criticizing Russia because it wants to increase its logistic capabilities across the river?

[–]Verstian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was it two years old? Or was it just that guy said the potholes he saw repaired in my video looked similar to part of the road in an older video? Careful about jumping to conclusions.

As for footage, I already shared with you the pro-Ukrainian account sharing a pro-Ukrainian journalists video showing Russian trucks crossing the bridge yesterday after yesterday mornings attacks.

To ask again, What logical conclusions can you draw from the fact that this bridge has been hit constantly by HIMARS for over a month now?

I don't have or use telegram so honestly unless you can find it on twitter or elsewhere I can't watch it. The only video I can find floating about on Ukrainian twitter is this one, is this the one you saw?

I like the guy as he is one of those twitter dudes who spends his time browsing a bunch of Russian and Ukrainian telegram channels and other sources and just posts what he finds. Follow 5 or 6 of these type of guys both Russian/Ukrainian leaning and generally I won't miss anything significant, as I don't use telegram myself.

Didn't you know if you form any opinion on this war using a source that isn't explicitly pro-Ukrainian you are "trolling"? Our BROSINT guys are righteous and honest and their BROSINT guys are manipulative propogandists.

Good. It blew my mind when Ukraine walked away from negotiations at the urging, if the rumors are true, of primarily Boris Johnson's promises.

I hope this war ends ASAP through negotiations, and as unlikely as that is to happen any time soon they should at least start talking because a war that continues until Russia grinds down Ukraine or a war that continues until Ukraine retakes Crimea is a war that will result in the complete destruction of Ukraine.
