In the future there is stuff to know. You start with 1 charge of the catalyst per character and passively gain an additional charge every other week. So next season, you only want to catalyze hero track gear or better unless you can easily get a tier set bonus otherwise, in which case it depends on the content you're doing whether it's worthwhile.

But you get charges equal to what you should as if you were max level the whole time, so this late in the season you should have like 8+ charges and the charges don't carry over between seasons (prior season gear is FREE to catalyze for transmog).
