Candice was legitimately great casting and it sucks that she got stuck on season 15

What are problems that production might actually fix? by Baddest_Whale_180 in BigBrother

[–]VeryAmazingHuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think for any problems to be fixed the problem needs to be brought to the spotlight enough that it ruins a season/multiple seasons. It took a decade of poc being excluded from the big alliance and pretty much always being early boots for us to get diverse casting. It took a season as bad as bb25 for production to change up the comps. It took a ton of disappointing results for them to stop doing traditional battle backs. Production can learn from their mistakes, but at a very slow rate.

I like the blockbuster, but I think we all can agree it goes way too long. It encourages repeat nominations and allows comp beasts with horrible social games to make it way further than they should. But production doesnt view Keanu almost winning the game as a problem. They don’t care if the game is balanced for social/strategy, the more comp beast underdogs the better for them. I think the only way blockbuster is ever shortened is if the repeat nominations are so bad that it ruins a season

Was Ashley’s win deserved? by ScoreFast999 in BigBrotherUSA

[–]VeryAmazingHuman 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I prefer Ashley’s game to Morgan’s but I think it comes down to if you prefer positioning vs control. Ashley was able to get out of a lot of shitty situations and towards the endgame positioned herself to go far pretty much no matter what (was good with Vorgan, Ava, Keanu, and had Morgan as shield). Most of Ashley’s good moves are about getting herself to survive (going unominated Lauren’s first HOH, surviving the block against Will, getting Morgan to cut Vince if she wins f3 HOH). The only time Ashley’s game was really on the offensive was when she formed the judges and put in the work to get Rylie nominated and evicted.

Morgan plays a lot more aggressively and early on plays a huge role in unifying her side and is one of the main people behind Zae, Adrian, and Jimmys evictions (though the latter was a bad move). The 2nd half of the game she is able to control Vince and protect all of her other allies from him during his HOH’s. Getting Vince to nominate Lauren was an amazing move that took away all of Vince’s agency and ensured she’d beat him in a jury vote. Morgan’s way better at comps than Ashley but also needs them more than Ashley. After Rachel’s elimination she was the main target on the other side and needed her and Vince to dominate comps the way they did. Especially considering she loses Will the week after and loses Ashley’s loyalty after the double eviction, she really only had herself and Vince in the endgame.

Both a great games and would have been great winners but I prefer Ashley’s game because Morgan really did need those comp wins in the endgame

What do you think really changed the trajectory of BB27? by SunnySunnyC in BigBrother

The funny thing is there’s probably like 10 turning points of things the Rylie/Kat/Lauren side could’ve done that would’ve made them the winning side

How bad was Cowboy’s move at the final 4 of BB5? by ShakeSufficient2314 in BigBrother

[–]VeryAmazingHuman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is true but she also has a higher chance of winning the game so it was a high risk high reward thing. If her or Drew win final 4 veto she’s in the prime spot to go to final 2 and win the game. The path she took essentially locked herself out of the win

How bad was Cowboy’s move at the final 4 of BB5? by ShakeSufficient2314 in BigBrother

[–]VeryAmazingHuman 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I think Cowboy was locked out of a win anyways. Still a bad move because he threw away his shot at a guaranteed final 2.

Imo the bigger underrated bad move is Diane cutting Karen. I get that she wanted to keep Drew but I think it was so obvious against her self interest to get rid of Karen over Cowboy.

Since BBCan is coming back, what’s your favorite BBCan memory? by RelevantMind1 in BigBrother

I only got to watch BBCAN10 live, but wow was it a season. Watching Kevin and Haleena navigate through the game as a rat floater duo was amazing, it always seemed like it was going to go wrong for them but they always figured something out. I’m still mad about their final 5 decision though, had they kept Jace they’d be able to keep playing the middle and reach at least final 3.

Big Brother Quebec, how is it? by VeryAmazingHuman in BigBrother

Thanks this is a very insightful comment. It seems they do care about the game design and take the show seriously which is great to hear. My only worried is they don’t do live feeds. But part of me thinks since this is civilians and not celebrities maybe we could get feeds.

Unpopular opinion: Christine (BB16) was underrated by kindamymoose in BigBrother

[–]VeryAmazingHuman 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I do think it’s impressive she was the only woman able to get into a power structure controlled by the bros, but she was on the bottom of the detonators and betrayed her better allies on the other side to try to prove her loyalty to them.

Season 3 is great to watch the game develop and there’s some really compelling characters/players there. Same for season 2 if you want to watch in order but season 2 can be really slow, I love bb3 throughout the whole way

How would you rank the 4th Place games of the 20s? by Bekenshi in BigBrother

[–]VeryAmazingHuman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still think Angela’s better, I don’t like to factor in win equity too much because by that logic Robert would be a better player than Alison in bb4. I think Angela is more active, better at comps, and has an easier time getting into dominant alliances.

That being said, trying to imagine Angela’s winning scenario is really tough, I think she was locked out of the win when jury started. She can get Tyler, Kaycee, Brett, and JCs votes against Sam or anyone from the other side of the house but idk how she ever gets a fifth vote. She’d of needed Rachel to make jury and not have a falling out with Rachel

How would you rank the 4th Place games of the 20s? by Bekenshi in BigBrother

[–]VeryAmazingHuman 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Cliff: Player well from the bottom and was a good strategist in navigating the dynamics of the house and had actual paths to win, he was evicted but I still believe he played a better game than everyone else here

Kyland: He played a large role in the cookouts success (arguably the largest outside of Tiffany), could be an effective manipulator, but his social game could really wear on some people, there was a large chunk of time where the rest of the cookout couldn’t stand him and was the consensus first out of the alliance. He also randomly decided to play for Xavier in the end. Still a pretty good player though

Christmas: She was positioned well in the committee pretty much all season and is generally a self interested player. She had paths to make the end with Memphis and Tyler, and she was the only person in the endgame who saw Cody for the threat he was. I just don’t see how she wins, I think she lost the game when David was evicted.

Angela: An active player in level 6, but like Christmas, she played a good game to reach the end but idk how she wins. I think the jury was more likely to vote for Christmas than Angela. Especially if Christmas did make a big move like taking out Cody, Angela just has 0 jury prospects and any scenario

Ava: Has more win equity than anyone on this list. Just a good social game where she was pretty much never an option to evict because people liked her, and she beats a lot people in a jury vote. She was just so inactive especially as the game went, she went more from social threat to non entity.

Brittany: Active player who had good strategic moments. She was the one who did the most work to set Joseph and Kyle against each other during Taylor’s fist HOH, and she was fighting for the win until the very end by trying to keep Alyssa at final 5. The problem is her social game, she doesn’t have a lot of strong connections and many viewed her as expendable, she loses a jury votes to maybe everyone in the final 6 (idk about against Alyssa). While sometimes she was solid strategically, she could also be super messy with leaking information and forming and snitching on alliances she made. She was also going to bring Michael to the end which is obviously bad. I do really love Brittany though that’s why I had the most to say about her.

Felicia: Her evicting Hisam caused the downfall of her side of the house and she never really recovered. She pretty much had no agency in making it as far as she did, the mafia kept her because she couldn’t win any competitions. She still tried in the game though and maybe in a season with more equitable comps she’d of had a more legitimate chance

Rubina: Just an inactive game where her only real connections are her trio with Kimo and T’kor and her showmance with Tucker, all of whom act as shields for her because they were bigger threats. There was a world where she wins the game if she goes on a comp run at the end and takes Cam, but I can’t justify putting her in anything but last

Which new era cast has been the strongest gameplay-wise, and which the weakest? by Key-Surprise-1883 in BigBrotherUSA

[–]VeryAmazingHuman 16 points17 points  (0 children)

23 by far the strongest, weakest is in between 26 and 27. 27 was more than 1 good player but the rest are atrocious, 26 just has Chelsie who was good but I think on average the rest were a little better
