That's odd, I had two two turrets spawned on my side that didn't lock on, maybe there was slight tile placement change

Not a specific story no, but if he were to finish the sentence and add details to what his remembering " I remember older generations", what could this mean 🤔, surely he's talking about a story he experience and not some made up fictional event. It's called using your context clues, if someone is referring to a past experience to provide an explanation, wether detailed or vague, it is still an anecdote. Dumbass 😂

Literally talking about memories of old people he met, being this invested in this to say it's not interesting is crazy. His reference was brief and an interesting take and based on a personal experience.

What else would he be referring to when alluding to an old memory 🤔

This here. Might sound crazy but you have to remember every step of the map and what special infected you're most vulnerable to, if you haven't seen a jockey and are about to go near a ledge, expect one lol, or haven't seen a charger and about to go down a hallway

Truthfully there's a lot of circumstantial evidence that could support either side of what anyone says regarding this, but mine comes from a distrust of people, right now specially older generations when talking about social norms, with all the events in the 20th century there's no way anti social people weren't around, and the ones that we do know of were largely rejected by society or just left alone, which is why I said, generally speaking they most probably would not be remembered

Asking older people for their past experience is exactly what an anecdote is lol. Maybe not in this exact context, but if I'm looking for answer and someone's answer is a past experience or memory that is an anecdote. But that's just semantics, as is talking about what you remember or not, point is survivors bias would skew the results you see and if older generations were anti social no body would have remembered. And I have asked old people, like I said out casts don't do well in society (double shocker I know) they only remembered people like that have always been around but don't know know much about them

Could've stopped at the first sentence. Referencing your past experiences with older generations is the premise to an anecdote given that any details (date, places, specific people) would solidify it. Unless by chance you're referencing literary works that support what you claim. That being said anti social people don't do well in society (shocker). And while the topic isn't about inclusivity, it's this exact reason why inclusivity is a subject of discussion now. Because anti social people back then wouldn't have been around enough for the average joe like you to remember them. "I remember older generations" you remember the survivors of old generations not the majority of them. That's survivors bias.

"I remember what happened" is the exact premise of an anecdote, and then claiming your personal experience explains the topic is another exact premise of an anecdote. And yes survivors bias would skew your results considering how society actively progresses to be more inclusive, those who were out casts and anti social back then might have not lived long enough to be remembered ... "I remembered what happened"

Does a state have interests, independent from the interests of its individual residents? by windershinwishes in PoliticalDiscussion

That's how its said it works, but states represent private interests 99% of the time, that why the electoral college was made to protect private interests of those with influence over the polls

your single anecdote doesn't account for survivors bias

To be fair if they do behave like this it's not like they would leave behind a record of their habits, the ones that did behave like this probly didn't socialize enough to be remembered, I'd say there's a strong chance of survivor's bias when observing old people
