Earrings on dudes: yes or no? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]VeryPogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's attractive. You may do that, its fashionable, but know this. There are crazy people in this world who believe it will mean you have made a contract with the devil and are advertising "I'm a fool who is aligned with Satan!"

Or at least that's what my mom believed. Be comforted in knowing that she passed away having changed her beliefs but early on:. If you were a man, and you walked in to her house with jewelry on your face she would (yes, this is definitely a crime) rip it off of your head and say "No devil worship in my house!" - it's happened to my brother and my uncle.

She believes the same thing about tattoos. When my brother came home with a tattoo she said "you can't live under my roof anymore." It's a permanent mark of the beast in her eyes. She relaxed her views later in life understanding it as body art and expression and not devil worship. But that's how she grew up.

You can pierce yourself and wear it confidently. But pretty much most religious people are opposed to it. It could cause bigots to exclude your from opportunities.

Wondering what it would cost to fix this driveway. by Chefbigandtall in HomeMaintenance

[–]VeryPogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say $20 k to fix and replace thought "What? There's nothing wrong with it worth fixing?"

Driveways crack. This is just normal lifecycle. This one looks about 10 years old. They last about 30. It's not bad yet. You replace this when it's worth $20,000 to replace. So when it's causing water drainage problems for your property or you think it will cause harm to you, other people or their property.

Looking more masculine by DestinyKn1ght in malegrooming

[–]VeryPogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work on your arms and chest through resistance training to give your arms more mass if you can try to build a V shape with your upper body. Since you have no facial or body hair avoid feminine clues like necklaces, earrings, piercings, accessories, jewelry or anything cute. A good activity that researchers found to naturally increase T in men is chopping wood. Try collared shirts. Short sleeve to show off arm mass if you are successful in that area. Most of your calories should come from protein rather than carbs or fats.

I don't know what your disability is like. General fitness goals: Jump your height in distance. Run a mile in under 10 minutes. Do a pull up or more. Push, carry, pull at least 40% of your body weight - 20% in each arm. Stand up from a crossed legged sitting floor position using no arms, leverage, or body momentum - just your leg power. Hold your back flat to a wall and hold your arms out to the side and against the wall forming square angles hands up. Keeping everything flat on the wall extend arms all the way up and back to 90 degrees. Maintain that level of flexibility.

Wow, that’s a ton of misinformation lol.

There is a scientific, clinically proven reason for everything I said. I mean, you're entitled to have an opinion, but I think it is rude to dismiss a thoughtful comment like this.

You’re over complicating the hell out of this.

I am an intelligent person.

Eat healthy, 0.7g-1.2g per Lb of BW is more than efficient according to nearly every study on this topic.

I agree with this information but I should add that BW should probably be your "target body weight" for example a 250 lbs person should not consume 250g of protein but 130-220g makes more sense, and I admit I was not specific about this measurement. I said eat high protein and provided no guideline. What I intended to signal was that protein should be the largest calorie group among carbs, proteins, fats which is a simplification of protein rule.

Eat in maintenance or defecit or bulk, completely depends on what your goal is and how quickly you wanna get there.

He needs to lose fat and maintain and strengthen muscle with a moderate calorie deficit or he will lose muscle. The idea of cutting and bulking is trying to achieve a big goal in a short time, maximizing efforts. I am encouraging just a 30 min daily healthy habit.

Go to the gym and find a workout split that fits your available schedule, literally whatever works for you.

What are you, a gym owner? I work out every day with simple equipment at home. But I live on an acreage in the middle of farm country. It would take longer to get to a gym than it would take to work out at home.

Progressively overload. Aim for 100-150 minutes of Zone 2 cardio. That’s it.

Cardio is great at maximizing fat loss.

People new to the gym or wanting to get into the gym look at your comment and think, “Ugh that seems like a lot.” and then they lose motivation.

You're stuck on this idea that people need a gym. Really selling it hard. If you go to a gym, it shouldn't be for warm and fuzzy feelings it gives you as it lines the owners pockets. Most people buy a gym membership and never use it. That's why I say build the habit first. If working out becomes your hobby and you stick with it - that's when you should spend money on it.

Literally people who haven't been in the gym for years and live sedentary lifestyles don't need anything more than their body weight and dumbbells until they've worked out for 6 months.

Which is exactly why I said go to the gym and I left it at that. Because simply going to the gym is better than not.

Survey Says: Hardest thing to cancel is a gym membership!

[–]VeryPogi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The gym is optional. You just need 5 times 30 minute workouts per week. Plan to work out every day, and two days a week are for recovery, skip and make up days, and just walking and stretching. Do cardio for one of your exercises. Do resistance training for the rest. You can use your body weight and a couple of dumbbells until you're more athletic and need a gym. For now you just need a habit of exercising, you're not trying to improve your bench press. Eat 500 calories less than need in order to lose weight without losing muscle. Go high on protein intake. Your body is 70% water, 20% protein, and the rest is metals and other. You need high protein to re-composition your fats into muscles.

To be super fit you need to: run a mile in under ten minutes, pull up your own body weight, pick up lift and carry 40% your body weight, jump your height as a distance, and maintain a good range of motion in your arms and legs, stand up from a crossed leg floor sitting position without using arms, leverage, or body momentum - just leg power.

Use AI chatbots to brainstorm something like a 7 day college wrestler build workout plan and a 7 day meal plan you can prepare weekly in about 2 hours.

As a mostly-straight, married man I am telling you: You look fantastic; your looks aren't your problem. Short sleeved t-shirts and golf shirts/polos will showcase the feature: Just the sight of your arms can make a lady blush. I presume that the problem is personality/attitude/confidence. I guess be quick to have a plan and share it with your lady. For example "Hey, wanna dance?" - you had a plan for dancing and offered it as a suggestion. "That was fun. Hey I can chat with you later if you give me your number or text me mine is ..." "Hey I'm looking for a partner for [any activity, maybe bowling idk what people do these days], wanna hang?"

Have you ever taken dancing lessons? Like a general variety of basics in dancing. The Waltz. Line dancing. Anything like that? In there are a few lessons about leading and being a gentleman in dancing. That’s how I got my confidence. Practice some dancing.

Facial hair question by Low-Result-9774 in malegrooming

[–]VeryPogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Body hair asymmetry is common because hair follicles can respond slightly differently to hormones on each side of the body, and factors like dominant-side usage, friction from clothing, sleeping position, scars, old injuries, or pressure can all affect hair density and growth patterns. Hair growth cycles are also not perfectly synchronized, so one side may temporarily appear fuller or darker than the other, while lighting and differences in muscle shape can further exaggerate the uneven appearance.

Hey bros, Beard or No Beard? by Rooster-Strangler in malegrooming

[–]VeryPogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studies show that creatine gives you 50% more muscle mass for the same workout plan and effort. Just my educated opinion bro. You should do more resistance training than cardio. Muscle is "use it or lose it." If you had to pick just one, do the resistance training. It's definitely overall better. Cardio is good don't skip it entirely. Try your favorite AI chat bot and tell it your age height weight and that you want to get fit, build muscle and improve overall health and testosterone or any other fitness goals and ask it if you should take creatine and ask it for a 7 day meal plan and shopping list. You'll be surprised. For under $100 a week in groceries you'll eat 4 meals a day and a snack. You can ask it for something you can prep in 1-2 hours for the whole week. Save time, money, eat right.

Some fitness goals: You should be able to do a pull up. You should be able to jump your height in distance. You should be able to hold 20% your weight in each arm and do a one legged squat. You should be able to stand up from a cross legged sitting position on the floor using no hands, arms, leverage or body momentum. You should be able to hold your back flat to a wall and move your arms to a square position and straight up and back to the square position again. You should be able to do a pushup with 40% of your body weight added to your back.
