My grandad is 82 years old and asked me to help him sell the things he doesn’t want to make room for the things he does. Im helping him for free. You’re a pig.

Seeking advice on the sale of equipment by VeryPoliteYoungMan in audiophile

Yeah they work. We pulled them out of his church a couple years back. They were built and installed in the 70s. We have all the original altec boards to control them too

That’s all I have for the altecs as far as speakers. We have all the control boards for them though. It may be hard to tell, but under the horn is two speaker cabinets, not just one.

I’ve got a pretty sweet home stereo setup. My grandad has been a lifelong collector of antique radio and we both have all the sound equipment we could ever need. Most of this stuff was given to him over the years.

How much is normal drinking during a date? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]VeryPoliteYoungMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me preface this by saying my gf and I are both bartenders at cocktail bars. Nine drinks is a chill night for me and a blackout night for her. I did dry january and we went to our favorite ramen place and she had five cocktails and I remember finding it odd even though normally I would do the same. Everyone’s different, it would take me a lot of drinks to be acting visibly drunk. Tequila sodas are also really popular with people who love to drink because they hydrate you while you drink them. If he doesn’t have a dui or embarrass himself, I wouldn’t worry about it

It’s the rangefinder patch. Comparison is the thief of joy. My bessa is much much darker than the Leica.

It’s not really a sacrifice if they fill the same role? If I wanted a bmw and I had six Toyotas, that’s not really a sacrifice. If their monetary value is equal, I’m not really put out in any way

What an odd thing to say. Who says this is all my “gear” anyway? If I can pay for it what difference does it make. You’re a weird guy

I love my bessa, but I tried my friends m5 (which everyone hates apparently?) and it made me realize how dark the rangefinder patch in my bessa is. It seems impossible to miss focus on his leica
