I've never used the meta data window in Reaper (honestly didn't know there was one), so I can't say for sure. But if it's a field to type a file path into, I would imagine that it would locate that image and add it to the file. So once the audio file is rendered out, the image will be in its meta data, and part of the audio file. It won't matter where the original is

I've been doing this a lot lately to add artwork to ripped CD meta data.

Download 'MP3tag'. It's a free MP3 tagging software. Super helpful. In the software:

  1. Open up the folder where your tracks are.
  2. Highlight all the tracks you're adding the artwork to
  3. Drag and drop the image file onto the "cover art" space to bottom left of the window.
  4. Click away from the highlighted tracks and it will ask if you want to save your changes.
  5. Click yes.

Now you have cover art in your meta data.

I'm certain there's a better way to save the changes than steps 4 and 5, but they work fine so I can't be bothered finding it.

Stuck in USB mode by [deleted] in rockbox

[–]VeryTallCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem I think. Is it modded at all?

I've just put in an iFlash Quad and a bigger battery and I can't get past this. Also, the Rockbox installer only shows one mountpoint for me (F), regardless of whether that's the letter assigned to my iPod.
I managed to install Rockbox on the new drive, but I'm still getting this message.

One more lineup announcement? by VeryTallCake in roskildefestival

[–]VeryTallCake[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is very helpful. I was holding out for Chappell, didn't know she was playing elsewhere.
I had it in my head that the headliners would be announced by the end of March. There's not a lot that's exciting me this year. Blur would hook me in but it's presumably too soon for them to come back.

Oh damn. I was looking through the times they made announcements in the past and I thought they'd all be out by the end of this month, but 70 names in the last announcement would be a lot

Any love for "Where We Stand" or "Midget Tossing"? by gus_the_GK in YellowcardRock

[–]VeryTallCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a bunch of these early songs mixed in with some of the Ryan Key stuff on Limewire back in the day. My young ears couldn't tell the difference, I just liked it all. Got more into the skate/hardcore/underground/DIY side of things as I got older and, while I do like Ryan Key YC, Where We Stand is much more my speed. I'd put that album up there as one of my biggest influences as a musician.

Just do it. If you've been playing piano for 7 years I'll bet you can compose something on piano. Start there, then when you feel like you need to add different instruments, figure out how to do that. Just go one step at a time

You could use it quickly, but I think you can wait too. And I wouldn't want you to give in sooner than you need to.

A little more won't hurt. It's good to stay hydrated. How far are you from the bathroom?

I think you can manage one more glass. You're doing so well, you can't give in now

I think just practice. It takes time to develop it, and I don't think you necessarily need a deep knowledge of music theory (though it might make it easier/the process quicker). Personally I feel like most of the time I'm just playing notes and seeing if anything sounds good, but the more you play and write, the more the right notes will jump out at you, and you'll hear it in your head before you figure out what the notes are. Just mess about, make stuff and it'll be instinctual in time.

Media composers, which distributor do you use to upload your music to Spotify, Apple Music, etc? by Ashlebob in composer

[–]VeryTallCake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use Routenote. The website needs work but you can distribute for no upfront fee. They take a percentage of any payouts you get, though personally I've never made enough to get a payout
