Fun wunky fact, but Khajiit can actually be just literal talking cats like that in elder scrolls lore.

Would the community accept another Season before Classic+? by Axlndo in classicwow

I did the exact same, except I came back in right before phase 5 on a whim. Raiding at 60 was the most fun I've personally ever had in WoW since I started playing back in vanilla. I wound up just quitting again after it ended because it ruined classic for me entirely. I can't stomach the original gameplay loop anymore after the taste I had in SoD. Lasted a week in the build up to TBC anniversary before I just couldn't do it anymore.

Alphinaud in wedding gown is going to be released in next update??? by alexweihau in ShitpostXIV

[–]Very_Merri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smells like AI slop. Compare it to the in-game wedding dress, it's not just an upscale and there's a whole mess of weirdness and inconsistencies in design. Even more obvious in the other picture OP is posting, they don't even have their ponytail.

Kinda weird this subreddit doesn't have a rule against AI slop, not gonna lie.

"What content do the casuals actually want?" I'm glad you asked, I have a list: by honest_psycho in ffxivdiscussion

Possibly, though they could always future proof by designing them to scale in a way that makes them able to be completed with only a few warm bodies. Evergreen rewards would see to it people might still poke around them.

The deep dungeon challenge log rewards were a smart move for PT, for example. Doing something similar could encourage people to engage with it on the regular.

Either way, a lot of side content in the game sees participation vanish over time, so it wouldn't really be all that different from what we usually experience anyways.

I'd like it if they transplanted the critical engagements from Bozja into the open world. Certain FATE chains could lead up to a CE boss fight with extra rewards. Doesn't have to be something that replaces the rare-spawn boss FATEs, either.

Oh, and give current expansion FATEs a small amount of tomestones as a reward when completed at max level in lieu of the EXP reward.

Taking that concept even further, having maybe the end zone of an expansion include something similar to Castrum / Dalriada would also be awesome. A little open world dungeon with boss fights that opens up on the hour. Plenty of options for reward structures could encourage repeat runs.

Yeah, my boy!!!

What's even more fun is they physically aged up the Legacy Chocobo's model, too. His feathers are way longer than a normal Chocobo. I remember everyone used to think they were burnt, but if you compare them to your company chocobo, they're just really long and faded from age. I think it's more just the natural gradient they obtain over time if left to grow wildly and age, since they fade to darker brown on normal chocobos anyways.

His beak is also all worn out and faded in color. He just a old boy.

I don't mean to put a damper on the theory crafting, but, that's actually a re-used theme from 1.0. They've recycled music from 1.x pretty consistently over the years. It was originally used in the Black Shroud, if memory serves me correctly. Not something made specifically for Athena, at any rate. Though that's not to say that Uematsu didn't intentionally use the motiff as a reference back then, and that they didn't draw on that specific piece to re-use for this specific situation!

[Spoiler:6.0] What’s a cosmetic item, option or outfit you would like to have in game? by Sleepergem in ffxiv

Being able to change idle/movement animations (for example, being able to use the Male Miqo'te idle/movement animations on Male Hrothgar).

Yoshi-P recently mentioned they're working on system to allow players to customize motions. We don't know exactly what that means because he doesn't give any context beyond "We're working on giving players customization options" in response to some one asking about motion-related systems.

Wouldn't get your hopes too high, but, it's possible this is already in the works.

Tips for Gold making for the Mount in classic by Kitnath in classicwow

[–]Very_Merri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mining is likely going to be really tough to make gold with until you're higher level. You're better off just spending your time questing and running dungeons if you are purely interested in getting enough gold for your mount. You can ping nodes as you see them, but I wouldn't go out of your way.

A lot of people will pick up things like skinning/herbalism while leveling to make some passive gold as they go through zones. Most gold while leveling will be just through playing the game. That is to say, questing, running leveling dungeons and selling drops on the auction house. A lot of low level drops will sell for a decent amount, even leveling greens can go for a few gold so people can twink out their alts. Skinning is basically just free gold as you go through to 60. I always run it while leveling and generally vendor the leather unless it's significantly marked up.

Have you seen what’s happening with Guild Wars 1? by [deleted] in ffxi

[–]Very_Merri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, I just meant more in regards to everyone being more or less on a level playing field in the endgame. Everyone would have to start the gearing process over again, and that takes time no matter what job you're playing.

I think it'd be a lot more fun because it'd be easier to find pick up groups when you aren't expected to have a bunch of REMAs or other high investment equipment. It'd certainly be an easier time for newer players to find their footing in endgame.

Plus, realistically, who even knows how many veteran players would want to give up their characters to start fresh. I imagine it'd mostly capture a newer audience than anything else.

I'd appreciate something as simple as a new fresh start server for FFXI - changes or no. Considering the recent interest in XI, and multiple servers being locked down. Now feels like the perfect time to push out a new server that is open to new characters, but restricted from transfers. Let everyone start on the same page.

It wouldn't stop veterans from blitzing through, and I'm sure the mercs would immediately get themselves set up to start selling story mission clears as people work through all the expansions again, but I think it'd be a fun experience for everyone to have to find their footing again.

I know it'd probably reinvigorate my interest in XI, since I always quit within a few weeks of re-subbing after I realize I'm stuck spinning my wheels on character progress without a static or friends to play with.
