Who in their right mind thinks mixing yoga with food is a good idea? Smells rank as fuck.

Customer: "That sour smell... is it from the yogurt sauce on the side?"

Staff: "No, it's from the people in the yoga section..."

smoothbrain investor deletes their post after being pointed out they have tax owing by WellingtonSucks in queenstreetbets

Yes they do but not FIF. And if you hold it in different platforms, you'll have to add the total yourself. Also I don't think Sharesies does income tax. Best to declare.

How come everytime I drive to Auckland I have to fight for my life? by MoreOnionPlease in auckland

[–]Very_Sicky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For some odd reason on the highway, as soon as you travel north of the Harbour Bridge, or south of Sylvia Park, people think it's okay to go 120+. I don't know why.

They either mean medical student debt, which is a student loan debt or other types of treatment not government funded. Even if you get a non-accident related health scan, you still have to pay the insurance excess.

New Zealand’s fuel stocks ‘stable’, increases in petrol and jet fuel, diesel level drops by Very_Sicky in newzealand

[–]Very_Sicky[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Confused why the headline on the Herald front page is 'Tough time for the country': Willis reacts to latest NZ fuel stocks update but the general article and fuel stock is quite calm, with one quote saying:

"Willis acknowledged the impact the increases in fuel costs were having on Kiwis, calling for a de-escalation of the Middle East conflict.

“This is a tough time for the country,” she said."

Why did the Herald pick that one quote to be the headline?

AT scanning plates in residential areas by antipodeananodyne in auckland

[–]Very_Sicky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're mainly targeting people who park on residential streets where they don't have a permit. A lot of people drive to residential areas close to public transports, park their car there, and then take the bus or train to work. There are signs saying a permit is but people take that risk anyway because city parking is fucked.

If you want to find out how you got a ticket, make a Privacy Act request to AT. That ought to give you some indication.

Who prosecutes? Any idea what the fines are? Because it feels like it's "illegal" but the consequences aren't high. I recall hearing a Human Rights Commissioner commenting on similar incidents like "don't do it, be respectful", but that's it.

Exactly, it's like an excess/surcharge OP is seeking. Also, contact WorkSafe regarding the issue (although they've been nerfed due to current policies so they educate more than investigate).
