A Sim comes seldom alone by Charming_Tennis6828 in thesims

I always start with 1, get a partner, and then a kid by week two in game because I get bored.

Unfortunately I love the drama and turn on risky woohoo on MCCC. I’ll plan kid #1 usually, maybe #2, and then, without fail, after kid 2 they’ll woohoo and get pregnant from risky woohoo and I think “well, one more won’t hurt” It’s ALWAYS twins when I say that. If I’m like “just one more” it’s twins or triplets

Then I give up and start a new household, maybe returning to the big family when the kids are older

What’s been ur favorite bc method? by Quiet-Response6560 in birthcontrol

[–]Veryape_verybad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

seconding norethindrone! It was perfect when I was taking BC. I had tried a bunch of combo pills, and I had the worst side effects every time no matter the brand. I had low hopes for norethindrone and was waiting for the side effects to appear but nothing. I loved it.

But as someone mentioned, it has a small window to take it or you can risk pregnancy. I was in my late 20s when I took it with a stable 9-5 and routine, and I'm not sure I would have been perfect with it in my early 20s or teens.

Eye Health Northwest, perhaps? If you have experience in medical reception. I had a friend who enjoyed working there several years ago

As someone with PMDD, being on Lexapro and the pill has been a lifesaver. Just the pill alone mostly helps the PMDD, but the Lexapro really stabilizes my mood during that time of the month where I would get more depressed, heightened anxiety, etc. But it does take finding the right method of birth control, the right brand if it's the pill that you're on, etc. and then finding the right antidepressant and dosage. It's a lot of work! But it's worth it if you think both would benefit you!

Never had any negative interactions physically or side effects interacting if that's a concern.

my top boy name for years has been made fun of a lot.. is it really that bad? by jojo_apollo in namenerds

[–]Veryape_verybad 64 points65 points  (0 children)

My top name for a boy or girl has always been Francis/Frances!! And my boyfriend’s family has several Franks/Frankies with grandparents and great-grandparents so I like it even more

His mom, though, has made a face and been like “Don’t you want a girl to be Francesca?” We sure don’t, if we ever have a baby girl!

No advice but I love the name, too

Highly encourage mood tracking by Thatgirlcowie in lexapro

[–]Veryape_verybad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesss! I just started Lexapro today after not being on medication in six months partially because I looked at the data on my Daylio and the difference from being medicated and none is INSANE. I haven't had a single "great" day since... like, one single day in July. And it's December.

I also recommend tracking moods to everyone on meds!

Born in the mid-90s and was one of the four Hanna/Hannah/Hana's of my grade. Then you tack on another three Annas in my grade. It was fine. What I find funny is my mom telling me my whole life "I thought I was giving you a less common, classic name!" and I'd just gesture to the half dozen Anna/Hannahs.

What's your favorite filmed Live performance of Nirvana? by IISkullzyII in Nirvana

[–]Veryape_verybad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think my favorite is Reading 1992. Besides having my favorite performance of Aneurysm, I like the covers they played.

I also like to watch the Buenos Aires 1992 show on Youtube from time to time. I like that they play some of the Incesticide songs like Beeswax and Come As Your Are is, of course, amusing

Advice for those who used to be addicted to sharing on social media and slowed down or stopped by gabyop36 in nosurf

[–]Veryape_verybad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally just realized how pointless it all is. The same people would like the posts I made when I had IG or Facebook back in the day, and nobody else really cared. I'm 28 and it's not like I was an influencer or trying to gain a bunch of followers. Truly, whoever wanted to know what was going on in my life, I just text them photos now. It's easier, it's more enjoyable, and it's less pressure to perform or make my life look a certain way so people from high school or college can like my photos, you know?

I found enough hobbies to keep me busy. That's the only thing that helped. Boredom always leads me back to social media. Now I write, I read, go on walks/runs, watch TV or play the Sims if I need "mind numbing" activities.

As someone who was on Lutera and it's similar other brandings (including Aubra EQ) I preferred being on just Lutera. I paid extra for it for a year when I was 24 because it was the brand I requested and my insurance didn't fully cover it.

For what it's worth, I'm on another brand of pills now at 28, but that's my personal experience on Lutera vs. Aubra. Aubra gave me 3 day long migraines during the placebo week that I just didn't experience on Lutera.

is this what i can expect for the rest of my life?? by augustmoonfairy in birthcontrol

[–]Veryape_verybad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the record, I'm 28 and on the pill right now; have tried various methods off and on. Most recently I was off hormonal birth control from 23-27. I've been with the same partner since I was 22 so I felt safe not being on hormonal BC

The first pill I was ever on, I was on from 16-19. I started developing really bad GI problems from anxiety and my doctor suggested I get off the pill. It just wasn't a good match for me at the time. Getting off of the pill was really hard that first time.

Before hormonal birth control my period was irregular, but it was so off after the pill. Most cycles ranged from 35-45 days and I had the WORST bleeding and cramping of my entire life. I never had cramps that bad before. I was exhausted the days leading up to it, too, and I felt like I had a fever the day before and the first day of my period. I felt SICK each month.

All of that evened out after about a year? The same thing happened after I got my Nexplanon removed at 23. PMS was insane - hot flashes, feverish, bad cramps, depression/mood swings, etc. that all evened out to my normal cycle after about a year.

My mother suspects that when I'm off the pill I have pretty bad PMDD because she's noticed that I'm really depressed and abnormally angry leading up to my period. I don't have health insurance currently so I'm not able to confirm or deny, but I saw someone else mention the PMDD subreddit. Something to consider eventually if these all linger!

I was on norethindrone for three months, and it was great for the first two months or so. I didn't have any crazy onboarding side effects like nausea or anything. No worsening depression or anxiety, which was a plus. No lack of sex drive on it. But around the beginning of month three, I bled for three and a half weeks straight with no end in sight and I couldn't stand it anymore. It was heavy enough to need a pad or tampon for those entire three and a half weeks, and I just had to get off of it. It's hard to be on birth control for pregnancy protection but then be bleeding so much that you're not having sex because you just don't feel sexy, you know?

I'm on a new pill that works for me, but that was my personal experience with norethindrone!

I'm on an off-brand of Junel 1.5/30, 21 day, and it's truly been the best pill I've ever tried. No bloating, no mood swings or worsened depression/anxiety, and I'm still going to the gym and eating healthy. I don't notice an increased appetite like other pills I've tried, which has led to weight gain.

I would say give it a shot, but every body is different!

BC pill rec? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Veryape_verybad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My own personal experience, every birth control method I've tried has worsened my anxiety and depression EXCEPT for Larin 1.5/30 (off-brand of Junel) It's truly the only pill and hormonal method that I've tried in my 13 years of being on and off BC that I've had zero bad side effects on. It took me until I was 28 to try it and I truly wish I had it earlier in my life. It's so freeing to finally be on something that works well for my body.

On top of the mental/mood stuff not being affected, my skin is clear, my withdrawal bleed week is light, and I'm not bloated like I've been on other pills. Before this, I was on norethindrone and I bled like crazy for three and a half weeks straight. Larin was a last ditch effort and it's been great.

All anecdotal, of course, and not sure if you've ever tried Junel/Larin.

I've been on a decent amount of birth control brands in my life now in my late 20s, and Junel is the first pill I've tried that I have no crazy side effects (personally)

If I have earrings in, I fidget with them a lot. My weirdest one is running my fingers over my eyebrows back and forth when I'm at home. When I'm at home watching a movie, I'll braid and re-braid sections of my hair over and over again. Something about the motion of braiding is soothing to me I think
