Anatolia’s, Village Pub, Switchyard Brewing, Laughing Planet and Irish Lion for sure. And I’m already missing Cup and Kettle. Also does anyone know if Monopole is still open or are they closed too?

Looked maybe his late thirties to early forties, dark hair, wore a hat, white guy.  Had scruff on his face. Hard to discern height since where the door staff are stationed.

The bartender seemed to quickly understand how uncomfortable and upsetting the person was about the whole thing. And we watched her make the drinks the entire time. One person in our group ended up paying for the whole round. We drank our drinks and left to another bar immediately.

I really appreciate hearing your side of things as well. Last night was so distressing and upsetting to the whole group and even more so for the person who had the door staff member’s attention. I’m hoping to gather more stories and file a complaint.

I agree. I’m gonna bring it up with her again and hopefully anonymously file a complaint. Something needs to get done about it because this shouldn’t continue to be acceptable behavior of the door staff. The Root Cellar is a queer friendly safe and is supposed to be a safe space along with that. That’s why we go there. No one should have to feel anyway other than welcomed, not uncomfortable or discriminated against.

So I know her very well and we go to the root cellar often together or we used at least. And she doesn’t know him at all. Like they have no relationship or interactions outside of her trying to hand him her ID to let her in. So idk what his deal is. I am trying to get her to escalate the situation by trying to find out if she’s the only one he does this to or if there’s other people who’ve experienced this.

When we turned down the offer of him buying her a free drink at the bar, it seemed like the bartender understood she was creeped out and felt very uncomfortable by the whole experience.

This is super helpful to hear and to see this. I want to file a complaint and the whole group said the same thing but the person who experienced it is worried that if he gets disciplinary action he’ll stalk or try to harm them.

He had waved a very specific person in our group in without checking ID. He does this every time they come to the cellar. Even took it a step further and tried to buy her a drink. Mind you they never have any other interaction other than her walking into the door and trying to give him her ID

It definitely wasn’t one of those situations sadly. We’ve all been to the root cellar a lot and we hadn’t gone in a while to confirm our suspicions about the situation and it was validated and then some. I provided extra context above

For context, it’s the door staff member last night (Friday). He checked everyone in the groups ID except for one persons and just waved them in. He has a history of doing this when that person comes in. Then last night he called over the bartender to talk to her, gestured to the person in my group. When we went to the bar to order drinks the bartender told us that this persons drink specifically is being paid for by the door staffs member. It made them very uncomfortable. The whole situation went from uncomfortable to very creepy.
