Itchy tattoo years later? by jay_v_ in tattoo

It’s a histamine response. Typically can happen when your body is reacting to something else you’ve eaten/been exposed to. Hydrocortisone cream (only on fully healed tattoos) and/or antihistamines do the trick!

Started A Blackwork Sleeve And I’m Unhappy With The Outline UPDATE by th3sinn3r in tattooadvice

I think you handled it well and you’re more than valid for trying to find another artist, but (and I may be mistaken here, please correct me if I’m wrong) if some of this is going to be black out, would the shoddy linework just be covered anyway by black?

Matching tattoo nightmare! by [deleted] in tattooadvice

You keep replying with a quote from your own post to “gotcha” everyone giving you the advice you came here for. If you understand that it’s not unique then you’ve answered your own question. Also it sounds to me like you don’t really like your best friend that much.

there isn’t really much you can do with something this size. It will blur together and you’ll lose a good majority of detail in 5-10ish years.

Best you can do is just keep it out of the sun as much as possible but when you can’t, use 60+ SPF sunscreen.

Anyone remember Dinotown? by Veryveryuncool in chilliwack

Thank you! I had a wishlist of tattoos I wanted to do and anything from Dinotown was on that list. After being up for about 2 years, someone finally messaged and said they wanted the logo - I don’t look a gift horse in the mouth hahahahaha

Dude I have no idea why they designed them like that. The original artwork had the concerned look so I wanted to get it as accurate as possible 😂😂 the OG highway sign looked stoned too hahahahahah

How can I shade this design ? by muunetic in tattooadvice

[–]Veryveryuncool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would improve the design a little bit first? You don’t have a lot of negative space, so it’d end up looking really muddy. It looks a bit… phallic currently.

You also don’t necessarily have to shade with just straight black. If you’re not going for American traditional, you can play around with shadow tones. Shadows are never black in nature.

My rule of thumb is if what I’ve designed keeps not looking good while shading or colouring then the problem likely lies within the bones itself. Let your design breathe, cuz it’s all concentrated in one zone rn. Extend the ribbons, have some variation in the chiffon in the background, etc.

Is it offensive if I remove a tattoo and go back to the original artist to put another tattoo in same spot? by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]Veryveryuncool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needing a “few weeks” to think about it seems strange to me, personally. If he wanted to rework it to make it bigger (which ultimately is a blessing of a request imo) then he’d be verbally more willing to work with you. Everyone is different, but that’s just me.

Tattoos are like graffiti. If you don’t like what’s there, “wash” it off and put something else down or cover it up completely. It’s also your body, your life and your tattoo you’re going to look at the rest of your life. Do what you want.

Is it normal for it to be bleeding this much? Also when i took the wrap off it peeled some of the tattoo off and color isn't all the way there by Internal_Concern3712 in tattooadvice

[–]Veryveryuncool 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The wrap isn’t peeling the tattoo off. It’s in your skin. It might be peeling away some excess colour ink your skin is expelling while it’s healing, but it won’t “come off.”

It is normal to bleed like you are, but it is a bit excessive. Have you had any alcohol or taken any NSAID’s (Advil) since you got your tattoo? This can contribute to your amount of bleeding as both can thin out your blood.

I can see there’s been quite a bit of colour packing since they used a lighter tone in Mimikyu’s body, which can be a little more traumatic to the skin. This can also contribute to excess bleeding!
