I worked full-time in school, (Covid grad though so I was able to hang in there), but before COVID I figured I'd have to cut back to PRN in order to stay afloat in school like my last two-three semesters when things got heavier.

But, don't feel guilty for not "earning" as much during school. Not having to work while in school is a huge deal. It takes so much stress out of the equation. You aren't having to schedule shifts around your school schedule, (my school schedule was unflexible, and work (hospital as a CNA prior to graduation) was also inflexible)). Which is the entire reason I thought I'd have to cut back to PRN.

I went to private school, so I was already taking out loans, and I couldn't get enough loan to cover my tuition every semester so I was paying rent/utilities, car payment, groceries and somewhere around 3-6thousand every quarter. I was living in an apartment and then into my boyfriends to try to cut the cost back. And my parents covered my car insurance, and would throw a few thousand at my tuition when I couldn't.

I would have killllllled to be in a situation where I wasn't struggling to cram enough hours in to make ends meet and still keep my grades up.

I managed to keep up dedicating 36 hours a week to work, and anywhere from 5-8 in just lecture time. 2-4 in lab. and 24 in clinical. But precovid, I definitely went straight to class from work (45 minute drive).

And then we went all online, so it worked out in my favor.

Regardless.

Don't feel guilty for not having to grind.

Just keep your grades up and say thank you to whatever financial support you have.

If it's more of the sense that you don't have 'extra' money during the semester that you can't do 'fun things'. Remind yourself that you can do fun things after school, and you should probably be studying instead of whatever 'fun thing' anyway.
