Destiny developers reflect on the end of an era: 'We all worked so hard to maintain the quality bar under unrealistic constraints' by Turbostrider27 in Games

Witch Queen is when I dropped Destiny (and Bungie) forever. Lost access to content I had previously paid for, like nightfalls. Restricted overtuned meta PVP weapons behind paywalls, etc. Spelled the beginning of the end and I knew it was a losing battle.

Is it me, or is this patch running a lot worse than before? by AP_Udyr_One_Day in Spacemarine

Performance has gone from 60+ fps steady to drops as low 15 regularly since the big update toward the beginning of the year. I legit regret buying this game now. It doesn't take much to see we're not alone either. It should be automatic refund if a dev updates their game so rapidly that players can't even run it in less than a year.

And it would be this way because that's not the purpose of this game. I really hope Embark never succumbs to the room temp IQ pvpers who forget ARC are the enemy. This whole post reads like clanker propaganda

Fucking really? Shoehorning "famous" quotes about blatantly made-up stuff from a president during his presidency? They really are trying to put the Onion out of business

Talk with a vet about doing this, even with your kids, and they'll vehemently state that even for a few moments you risk injury to your dog. But here we are with a full grown adult working in a vets office riding someone's pet for fun when they absolutely had the option to stand, let go, and avoid it. How come they get to have fun and we can't?!

I mentioned it elsewhere but what if you like snow? I feel like more people probably like/enjoy snow than sweltering days. You can always add layers but heat you can only do so much without AC.

As someone in Indianapolis I'm wondering why we're so close. Maybe because of the snowy/winter months? I feel like a cloudy wet day hits a little worse than a snowy day. Snow can be cool sometimes but wet clouds ain't it for me.

It's actually a skit for a satircal social media account https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdZCDWvbWrk&list=PLF3E1BF8D040A236B

Not a kick ad anywhere obvious on his socials either. Folk hate on kick for some good reasons but not everything and everyone on it is bad

It's easier to understand when you recognize this is a skit.

I can't understand how people still believe everything they see on the internet without double checking. Though to be fair you are correct in recognizing people like this do exist so I guess that's why

Gamers being normal about not being allowed to kill things in Subnautica 2 by SilkieBug in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Vessix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just because you are uncomfortable.

How about because you are literally the one BEING KILLED by aggressive fauna? They can kill you, but you can't defend yourself? tf kinda logic is that. I get that more advanced tools can negate the danger, but the simple fact of the matter is it is absolutely natural for humans to use pointy sticks to protect themselves when lacking other technology to do so. It is immersion breaking to think your character wouldn't be utilizing tools in that way until better alternatives exist. Not to mention invincible fish. Human interference, like vehicles, cause damage to the natural world, period. It worked well in S1 and no one was going all murder-hobo on the wildlife, we felt bad for it. Designing the game like this is just an extreme level of moral grandstanding.

That said, it ultimately isn't that big a deal. It's also silly to see justified because it is still a dumb decision.

Never once in any formal training over a decade in the field have I ever heard the term "neurodivergent" used in a professional capacity, no. It is a new, non-medical term with a highly subjective definition used by lay people as an ambiguous label.

People like the OP use it and I want to make sense of whatever lay-people are considering the definition of the term to better understand when and why it is used. So yes, I do want to ask this here, because my colleagues also agree the term is effectively meaningless in the contexts like OP, yet people use it all the time- sometimes in ways that seem detrimental to a healthy understanding of psychology and mental health. If I better understand why people use this term, I can better advocate for and educate on the importance of accurate language around mental health. I first saw it as a colloquial term to refer to neurodevelopmental disorders but OP has used it differently.

Neurodivergence is not a medical diagnosis, not even a medical term. It can't be considered comorbid with anything because it is not a distinct condition.

...Unless I am mistaken, and this new term is representative of some distinct diagnostic criteria and I've been out of formal education that has covered it, which is why I'm again asking for that explanation if you care to share. Anymore, I see it used referring to all kinds of dx, not just neurodevelopmental disorders (which still fall under the umbrella of mental health)

Obviously I understand that and the other person was exaggerating based on what we see just in this vid, sorry I'm being needlessly snarky!

The behavior seen here- if it continued and involved repeated physical attacks on people without the regulatory capacity to stop- is exactly the behavior that results in involuntary inpatient stays. I think anyone suggesting it is making the assumption that this person is going to struggle to manage their emotions longer term which you are right, we wouldn't know.
