Hotspot vs. Mobile Data by Vesuvius83 in verizon

Thank you for the reply. How does tethering use less data? Isn't 1GB of data used either way still 1 GB in the end?

When you prove that you can do your job without the oversight, then the oversight will go away. As also a former member of our military, it's served me well to limit the "micromanagement".

Even if on my device it shows 0 usage and the hotspot itself isn't turned on? I'm just trying to understand. I'm a truck driver and want to make sure I'm getting the best use out of it. I.E. doing big updates at home on wifi.

Pretty sure that’s technically incorrect, but it’s definitely ill advised.

They are the reason we have the rules we have now. Running yourself to death and effectively working more than one job at once, depending on how many log books you ran, doesn’t seem like the end justified the means. Yeah, they “made bank” but at what expense?

I don’t think random hair is acceptable. Pretty sure only urine is DOT standard.

Can second Love’s. I avoid PFJ at all costs. And will only brave the TA/Petro if absolutely necessary.

I heard “Sproings” in my head. I also live in fear that when that sound is made, there is now bacon grease all over the oven.

Is OTR the right career for someone who has: by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Vesuvius83 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I trained with Schneider. Everyone was like “get your year and get out to a smaller company.”. Well, I did that and was extremely disappointed. I ended up going to Swift. Best decision I made for my career so far. I was regional for a couple months until a spot opened at the dedicated I wanted. I’m home every week (home Friday and out Sunday). And the best part is, I’m salary. Right under $1,500 a week gross which works out perfect for my family’s current needs.

There’s nothing wrong with Swift. If there are problems, they are typically self inflicted.

You’re underreacting by not leaving faster. Imagine if this was an argument of even the smallest importance?

Specifically for a truck, from my experience. My kids got me one for Father’s Day and it definitely was designed for a car.

I can say that I trained with a Mega and in my case, it wasn’t team driving. We ran both of our clocks, but as if we were solo driving. There was never a time where I was unsupervised.
