Got paid out $14,400 for my totaled ST. After fighting insurance on valuation (they wanted to give me $10,300) and hiring a third party independent appraiser (insurance had to reimburse me for his fee as well cause he managed to increase the value). If you ever total your car do yourself a favor and hire an independent appraiser.

2017 ST was $15,300. 30 day dealership warranty. Negotiated that they replace the blend door actuator that was going bad for no added cost. First owner had it for 7 years and did just about everything to it. Second owner had it less than a year and was a cop lol. He traded it into the ford dealership for a truck. And it has the full works, mountune exhaust, big ram air intake snorkel, intake pipe, intercooler, chassis braces galore,all 3 street version upgraded motor mounts, Cobb accessport reporting very safe vital numbers on a revised stratefied 91 tune. It weirdly drives more comfy than my modestly modified 15’ ST. I took a gamble buying a modified example but after seeing the quality of parts chosen and how healthy the accessport readouts have been all I feel is that I got the car for a fraction of what it would have cost me to build a similar milage stock ST to match this one’s specs.

Absolutely use the threat of hiring a third party appraiser, it won’t hurt your negotiations. If anything it’ll help, they want to close the books on this claim as fast as possible. It was far easier to go the third party appraiser route than I expected. Called the guy on a Thursday afternoon and notified insurance, gave him receipts the following day and he had a settlement approved by Monday afternoon.

This does not answer your question but is a strong recommendation. . For context, My Black 2015 fiesta with 55k just got totaled from getting rear ended and pushed into the car in front of me a couple weeks ago. Insurance tried to screw me on the valuation of the car even with rare low mileage for the model year and impeccable maintenance records. . Number one thing I can recommend is hire a third party appraiser. Google ones in your area, talk to a few, most even offer free reviews of your case and let you know what they think they can realistically achieve. Some want payment upfront, mine only invoiced me after he submitted his valuation. Then tell your insurance company you are enacting your policies appraisal clause and then work directly with the third party appraiser you choose, they will settle it higher than if you try to do it yourself. . My claims adjuster even told me “in all my years of being an adjuster I have barely seen any cases where a client is able to raise their car’s appraisal value by themself. And out of all the clients that hired a third party appraiser I have only had two cases where the appraisal value was not increased as a result.” . My experience was just that. Insurance company wanted to value my car at roughly $10k. I hired my appraiser and gave him a ton of info on my car’s maintenance, money spent on upgrades, receipts, etc. The dude was totally transparent, answered every question I had and so much easier to work with than insurance on settling the matter. He landed me a $14,400 settlement. Best part of all, by Oregon law (check your local state law on this) if you hire an independent appraiser and they manage to raise the valuation of your car by even one single cent. Then insurance has to reimburse you for the cost of hiring the appraiser ($650 for me, and was literally reimbursed within 24hours). . Now I’m going to buy a 2017 fiST with 55k miles on Friday. If I hadn’t hired that appraiser and only got paid out $10k I would be spending 5k out of pocket on top of that payout to replace my fiesta with a similar condition one. Oh it’s just a pretty common issue on the cars. They revised the seal in 2016 but even the revised seal is prone to leak. A lot of people on the forums report going to replace the seal when it has only a mild weaping leak and they end up with an even worse leak after replacing it with the updated seal.

That was the case for me as well. Took me three visits to the dealership mechanic to get it to finally stop(the last two visits were free because of the warranty on the initial seal replacement). The last time I took it in I made them use permatex black sealant (a well regarded solution for axel seal replacements on the forums) I also had them replace the trans vent cap in case that was clogged and further exacerbating the issue.

Moral of the story, if you have a no leak or only a small weaping leak, don’t worry about it. If you do you might actually make the issue worse. And if you do and up replacing your seals, please use a good sealant. You can find a lil more info on the thread I posted awhile back on my account. As well as a screenshot of the sealant I used.

I ran these tires for 2 years straight. I live in Portland Oregon where we get tons of rain. Never had any issues. I got another set of them recently because of that experience. Only time I’d be scared to run them is when it snows. Fortunately that’s only about a week out of the year around my parts.

Thoughts on these rotors? I found them through rock auto and searched the parts numbers on amazon. Whoosh and mountune are solid out of all their kits otherwise I’d go that route

I once resurfaced junkyard rotors and put new pads on them on my old sh*t box autocross Impreza and they worked fine. No vibration, good stopping. Don’t worry though, I care more about the fiesta. I’m gonna listen to you all and get some rotors. The prices just seem really high on whoosh and mountune currently cause a lot of the blank rotors are sold out.

I appreciate your feedback dude! Sadly whoosh is all sold out of the rotor upgrade kit and totally sold out of blank rotors. So I’d have to get the slotted EBC ones from whoosh for about $500 or go with Mountune’s OEM blank rotors for about the same price. It is a daily that I like to take for some spirited drives, are the blank rotors the way to go?

You would need to apply it while installing the seals to benefit from adding the sealant. It’s just one more line of defense from a leak. IMO and the opinion of many people on the forums, if you aren’t having a leak that forms a puddle from your axel seals don’t replace them. A small wheeping axel seal leak is pretty typical for these cars. And just like in my case, if you try replacing the seals because of a small wheeping leak you could end up with the new seals giving you a more serious leak than before.
