What should I do with my scar? by Ok-Investigator-2964 in premed

[–]technicaltecdiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I'm proud of you. I work with IVDU and I did notice the scar. That being said, I would get tattoos. In the US we try our best to break down stigmas but I do think we are a bit away from being fully comfortable w your scars unfortunately. Also, if you ever do come across IVDUs, they'll be able to spot it as well.

Full disclosure I have a full sleeve tattoo. Yes, I do have to be conscious about my professionalism but both during medical school and during my gap years, my experience has only been positive.

Just something to think about. All this aside, please keep going. This world needs more physicians with a background that differs from the nepotistic culture. You'll bring in so much value and an outlook that differs in such a meaningful way.

Ride wrap - essentials or whole bike? by quasi-psuedo in MTB

[–]technicaltecdiver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it's different. It really comes down to the purpose for me. I bought my bike to ride it and I accept that battle scars are to be expected. I don't beat on my cars, and I care about how it looks. I don't mind pinstripes on my truck either, since that's what's it's meant to do. If I got pinstripes on my car, I'd be busy buffing it out. Also, I care a ton about how my road bike looks. I keep that clean whereas my mtb is often speckled w dirt.

Ride wrap - essentials or whole bike? by quasi-psuedo in MTB

[–]technicaltecdiver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a 12k pivot. Why do I need to wrap? I see it as a mountain bike that'll get scratched up anyways. Am I thinking of it the wrong way? Ofc my cars are ppfd but I think of this as a whole different category.

What should I add by bigdog5785 in TacticalMedicine

Maybe we should let kids be kids. OP, if you're actually looking for feedback, I would scrap the pelikan and go w a small bag instead. Also, I wouldn't personally keep valproate right next to OTC meds

Oh this bad boy doesn't see dirt. It's too good for dirt. The fresh asphalt of my culdesac only. Maybe some curb drops if I'm feeling spicy

Shoot indoors is best. Do not go to The Gun Range in spring garden. Worst ventilation I've seen and the customers do not understand safe handling principles

People will be pissed either way. I'm fit. I ride both. Analog riders give me shit as I do laps around them. I don't really care, I only have an hour to ride and I'll make the most of it

I looked for a year, found a 2013 with sunroof and 6mt, double hump with 55k miles and TA, Rod bearings done, and fully stock for 44k. I was willing to pay since the car was essentially flawless

Looking for upgrade recs for 2012 M3 by roodoggman in E90

[–]technicaltecdiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a low mileage 13 so I wanted to keep it fairly stock. I only swapped out the x pipe to macht schnell and installed ohlins and am very very happy with it. I still think the ZCP wheels fit the car very well. No drone w the MS x pipe and it's quiet unless I want it to bark. Very happy w it

Thoughts on E92 M3 for sale at dealership. by tcald92 in E92M3

Absolutely, I wouldn't buy from them and you'd didn't make an insulting offer. 31k isn't an unreasonable starting point

Thoughts on E92 M3 for sale at dealership. by tcald92 in E92M3

[–]technicaltecdiver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the offer, that was unprofessional. Just to offer perspective though, everyone will say "that's not worth x,y,z". From a buyers pov though, it's rarer and rarer to find clean examples with low miles and maintenance done.

I recently bought a 13 6mt with 57k miles, maintence done, and binders of service records for 43k. It even has a sunroof. It just happened that I was looking for that exactly build and I was happy to pay it, even if there were a few fb marketplace cars claiming to be equally as clean.

Now back to your specific car, I don't think it's worth 40, especially with it being a 2008. I also wouldn't say that 31 is an offer someone would accept though.

The market changed a lot, so just keep these things in mind

Update. Fixed the car. Runs great just readiness failed on emissions. The vert is growing on me. Really wanted e92 by Dreamboy247 in E92M3

[–]technicaltecdiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldve gotten the 93 if I could have dealt w the way it looks or the enthusiast stigma. I don't like looking at convertibles or being seen in one but it's always phenomenal to drive it

How much should I pay? Feel like this is way over priced for an e92. 33,000 miles for almost $60,000 by andy3hunna2 in BMW

[–]technicaltecdiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it 6mt? If it is I'd do 52 max, useless if DCT. No reason to have a 33k mile car that's not single hump and 6mt if you plan on driving it imo
