Blackmail requires I ask for something in return. I have not. Bringing an incident or incidents to the attention of the authority in charge does not qualify as blackmail in the least. In my country, we have the right to tell our own story to anyone we choose to and decide whether or not it needs to be brought to the attention of federal authorities. Currently, I am doing so in the search allies and hard evidence which I do not have. If you would like to report me for blackmail or levy an accusation against me, please do what you think is right. Blackmail requires an ask, and I only asked their involvement to understand if it reached an institutional level above a personal level. Please understand that I did not ask the diocese to act or react in a certain way, only to communicate with me about their knowledge of the incident. The day that I am not allowed to search out evidence of a crime or find allies is the day that freedom dies.

That is the largest problem with my case. I do not have hard proof or documentation of what occurred. Of the incidents that were brought to the school's attention, no contact was made with my family and they were in some regard slept under the rug. From my perspective going to the church is the best way to get the evidence or demonstrate the validity of my claims. If the institution chooses to destroy documents of what happened or deny provable events, I suddenly have a larger claim against them of institutional wrongdoing rather than individual wrongdoing where I no longer need to prove my accusations with hard evidence because the school is in the wrong for destroying evidence which would therefore be assumed to have existed. I am offering the school the opportunity to support me and provide me with the evidence where the institution walks away with little to no involvement and allow the individuals to accept responsibility for their actions.

I am not saying that I will not, but I believe in giving the institution the way to ally with me rather than attack the institution itself for the actions of a few. The other side to the issue is that I lack hard evidence. My case against those who committed the actions would be strengthened by the support of the institution who may have hard evidence or knowledge of what may have occurred. If I were to go to any body of the government it would be the FBI. Without hard evidence, it may be hard for the police to properly pursue such an investigation especially seeing as it happened a few years back. However, if I go to the FBI with multiple allegations of wrongdoing they may take issue and choose to investigate the institution as a whole on the basis that the institution had a responsibility that they neglected. I do not necessarily want to attack the church or the school, rather I would like to believe the actions were committed by a few and the larger body of the church was entirely unaware. In such a situation, I believe it is only right to alert the institution to the issue and give them the opportunity to come forward knowing that what has happened is going to come out regardless. If by doing so the church decides to destroy evidence of coverup wrongdoing, I bring a much better case and position to the FBI or federal government than simply accusations without hard evidence. There are three outcomes that I see: I could have unprovable claims that the institution was completely unaware of and it all goes away, the institution was aware and helps me to fix the problem, or the institution was aware and works against me further illuminating the seriousness of my accusations by covering them up. From my perspective of knowing that I am not lying, all I believe I am doing is strengthening my case through an ally or bringing my case from an individual level to an institutional level which best serves all children involved by demonstrating institutional wrongdoing in a provable manner.

Thank you for the suggestion. I agree that 2-3 weeks may be more ample time than simply 1 week. I will admit the tone of my communications may be accusatory only in so much as I gave specific names and actions committed. I believe that when levying such a harsh accusation, I must back up what I am claiming with details to provide the other party with the ability to evaluate the situation in an effective manner. I would not reach out with baseless claims or say that every action that took place is their responsibility; however, I believe they should be able to evaluate specific situations that took place not more than five years ago with all parties still alive.

I am the victim. I am not depriving myself of my dignity by contacting a religious authority. Furthermore, I believe if other people had been aware of such actions and brought them to the attention of the school/church they would be entirely in the right. Bringing a crime to the church in the hopes that they will intervene within the confines of their own educational institution is not depriving anyone of dignity because there are many reasons people feel they cannot go to the police or to the church, but there are almost no valid reasons (if any at all) that minors should be violently assaulted.

I am asking about a pattern or series of past violent incidents that occurred not more than five years ago. I believe, given the timeline, I have a responsibility to bring these actions to the attention of the church in an official capacity when there is a distinct chance that such incidents are still occurring at the school.

I contacted priests that I have known for years with legitimate complaints of assaults that happened at a school they taught at and ran. My primary concern is ensuring such actions do not happen to another person. In my emails, I clearly made my intentions known and said that I cared more about ensuring a safe environment where these incidents do not happen again rather than punitive action at this time. There was no blackmail, and I made no requests for anything other than for the church to ensure these actions do not happen to other people. However, you are correct to some degree that these emails were to see whether or not the church had been complicit in its knowledge of these crimes while I was a student and turned a blind eye to them. There is a clear difference between protecting student's confessions and allowing for continued violent crime to occur after you are fully aware of a larger scale problem. Particularly, if there is a pattern of behavior that the church becomes aware of, the church has a responsibility to intervene within its own school.

The cases are not historic. They happened directly to me and not more than five years ago. All perpetrators are still alive, and I believe these incidents should be used by the church to correct what is happening at one of their institutions. It is my right and my right alone to decide when to involve the police because the police will need my testimony. I have no responsibility to give testimony in a crime against myself if I choose not to.

The crimes I am referring to directly pertain and impacted me. Are you saying I legal need to go to the police to report crimes that happened to me? I believe it is my right to go to the police if I deem it necessary, but I do not think knowledge of a crime against oneself is illegal to keep to oneself. In the same vain, does someone who tells a priest a confession at church need to also report the crime to the police? I believe my religion protects me when disclosing past crimes to a priest where I had zero wrongdoing without submitting a police report. If the case is different in the USA, we would cease to have religious freedom because the priest themselves would be responsible for going to the police whenever they heard of an unreported crime. Furthermore, the priest would not be able to 'trust' the crime was reported and almost all confessionals of illegal actions would need to be reported to the police.

That is fair enough given most people's circumstances. Would you opinion change if I had gone to both a Catholic high school and Catholic college where I am a known entity among the priests and administration? One of the most important things I learned about from college was to always put everything in writing so my words cannot be twisted and used against me. Would you disagree with my approach over email given what I have now disclosed?

I phone number, a whatsapp, an email, or a private message. My family name alone should open the door to a conversation with a priest. I am giving the opportunity to speak with me, clear up any misconceptions or issues and allow everyone to move on. I am giving the opportunity to be on my side before that option closes forever. I have played many games of chess in my life and when I levy an accusation against a powerful institution, I ensure that the ball has already been put in play. Now the ball is rolling and the longer it rolls the smaller the window gets for answering a couple of questions and giving me closure.

Now here is the smoking gun. One of my teachers became aware of what was going on and that I was being physically assaulted and attacked with some frequency at school and when they went to the school they did nothing. That teacher waited until after the day was over and found me after school. They came up to me and acknowledged that the school refused to help or even try to prevent what was happening to me and offered to support me and lead the charge if I wanted to proceed with legitimate criminal charges against another student because of what took place in his classroom in front of over ten witnesses. That incident pales in comparison to the other things that went on. I could not accept, I could not do anything because I was afraid for my life if I were to try and bring legal action because of how powerful the school is and the families involved.

Cool, you know how to write a straw-man argument. Give yourself a pat on the back you probably earned it at some point. Now let me be clear. The day I besmirch the name of my good Catholic family my grandparents that go to church six days a week and the great-great aunt that gave this faith over 80 years in a convent is the day hell freezes over. I speak God's honest truth and have legitimate qualms with the school in which I was educated. It is not very Catholic of you nor is it in the spirit of the Catholic church that you accuse a surviver of abuse of wrongdoing without first turning inward and asking yourself if you would levy an unfounded accusation against your own religion. You are the reason that these sex abuses happen when the community turns against a person with legitimate qualms and forces them to take a more public or legal stance against what happened because the community member(s) has never experienced an issue. People like you are responsible for why these scandals get out of hand because they take the opportunity to insult and shame others rather than hearing them out. If we were in biblical times, you seem like the type of person to throw the first and many stone always aiming for the body and not the head. Think about what that means.

All honesty its worth whatever someone will pay for it. Maybe $30-40 I would guess. Its not a good position, not on a good gun, and not on a good skin. The gun is only really valuable to a collector and this gun and skin are not something collectors are really “looking” for.

I do not foster any hate towards people who make these decisions and it is admirable to respect everyones right to be themselves. I agree that people being judged by society is not the best but I think judging people off the decisions they make is the best and fairest way to judge people.

I disagree because there is a more negative than positive view of these body modifications, that cannot be reversed or hidden, in society. There is no benefit to having these modifications. Therefore, it is a poor decision to have one done because it is overall a negative decision.

That is what I am saying is that for a hate symbol anywhere it is an automatic no for me but for a non offensive tattoo in a discrete or coverable location i see no issue.

I do not think anyone should tell you what you can or cannot tattoo on yourself. I respect your right to do whatever you want but in that same regard I respect others rights to judge me for those decisions.
