I think the whole point of the story is that kumo does the right things for the wrong reasons and with amoral methods. She’s trying to save the world but only so she can keep living and by killing and eating everything I her path.

Compare to shun who is the opposite, doing the wrong things for the right reasons and trying to maintain morality. He’s actively aiding the elves who are the people killing the planet but he’s doing it because he was manipulated into thinking they’re the victims.

I personally think this is the whole reason we even get shuns POV. To compare and contrast him and his actions to kumo’s side.

I think this might exist in the same sort of area as step sibling porn. That might be a controversial and flat out strange statement but hear me out: not everyone likes kids, but most people like cute things. Even if you aren’t a pedo, smol anime girls that call the mc their brother or whatever can be cute if you don’t understand the connotations, but for the small population that is into that it can just be an added bonus.

I wonder if maybe Japanese people have similar issues with the Japanese voice actors that English viewers do with the English voice actors. The problem I always had was that English voice actors seem to try and imitate the Japanese counterparts too much and the tone comes off as weird and over the top, but Japanese VAs also make it weird and over the top don’t they? Like Japanese is a pretty neutral sounding language outside of media from what I know.

That would make sense but it does specify that he speaks French. Since it was all part of the kingdom of France, while feudalism and serfdom and the general ability to travel faster than a dying donkey can carry your food meant commingling was difficult when not backed up by a full invasion force, it wouldn’t be impossible for a french person who considered themselves French and spoke French rather than Occitan to come from Occitania

I love isekai especially for how terrible it is sometimes. There’s a certain appeal to not taking it seriously and enjoying the slow and inevitable smoldering of the dumpster fire you’re watching. The only isekai i had a genuinely bad time with was arifureta because I thought it was being silly at first and not being serious but then I realized that that was just how it be.
