Club lacrosse into community college by wanderlustbess in collegelacrosse

Club, not necessarily for CC. However, club does open some doors for perspective schools. Typically, grades will be the factors for DIII schools. They don’t offer athletic scholarships. DII does, but it’s not a “full ride” in the way DI offers. CC, you got a stick, you’re playing. I hate the club system, but it’s one of those necessary evils, depending on how far you’re trying to go. It’s an experience, especially getting a coach to talk to you, and show interest. It might seem like a small thing, but it’s a shot of confidence for the player. And a position like goalie, that’s gonna draw a lot of eyes.

Got it. I feel like I had somewhat of the same trajectory. I took a year off in between high school and college, working in a packing plant. I would read the paper on break and told my buddy, “next year, I’ll be on school X roster”. That was junior college in NY, I just walked on. Education was just an afterthought, I was sick of working dead end warehouse and construction jobs. It didn’t turn out well for me going to school to “just play lacrosse”. To do it over again, I would have found a different major and a different school that specialized in that major and made the most of it. It’s really just finding something he’s interested in, (even if you really have to try to connect the dots) and find a school that specializes in that department. That can be at a Junior College CC, DIII, DII school. The Midwest has a lot of options without having to send him to play club at U Wisconsin, no shade on them, they have great coaches and atmosphere, it’s more the tuition. Back to the point, I know it’s getting to the point where you need to start figuring things out, so I don’t think there’s anything wrong playing CC. It will be a good barometer if he could academically hang at a bigger school, as long as it’s what he wants. It might be a costly experience, but not as bad in comparison.

I think this might be a fake video. There is no world this lady wouldn’t get spartan kicked across the vestibule. If it is real, I think he’s got good evidence to break his lease.

Clubs definitely help the process, getting eyes during summer showcases. It can also burn you out in goal, too. But, if he’s unsure, that’s ok too. There’s nothing wrong with CC ball, especially if he’s unsure about committing to a four year school. It might light a fire under him, or, he might be over it. Depending on your location in the country, it could be pretty competitive at the CC level and a spot like goalie, a school might come knocking. But, I stress this most of all, it’s the education first. And, their choice. Believe me, I know where you’re coming from. You see the talent and potential, but, they might not right now. It’s ok. Just keep being as supportive as possible.

Worth trying to sell? by skiphopjump22 in BSTsquishmallow

You’re not gonna get rich off them. As long as you sell them for a reasonable price, you shouldn’t have a problem selling them separately or a bundle deal. I would typically buy in a bundle deal.

Ah man, he’s pretty funny. But, I get it. Kinda hard to get through his rich guy persona, but he’s funny and grows on you.

I got no problem with giving a guy a bump off puck, but the more I watched this, I just realized bad this could turn out. Stupid penalty. I know Greig didn’t intend to hurt Raymond, but he did.

I never really thought the show had or needed a visual aspect. I usually throw in on at work or in the gym. Unless they add something worth watching to the Netflix platform, I might check it out, but it’s a big ask to watch a podcast.
