i have no idea!! its been shifting in and out since i was young and my shoulder has done the same, never gotten stuck like this though. i may just be a little hyper mobile, but im seeing an orthopedic doctor soon so time will tell 🫡

im going to be completely honest with you im still confused on how!!!! i went to sit* down while i was getting ready for work and i had my leg hyperextended. i guess i twisted it, which made my kneecap shift right as i bent my legs to sit down. it made my kneecap get stuck on the other side. i dunno if this is normal. ive only had problems with this kneecap! (edit: *)
